Streptomycin-Induced Inflammation Enhances Escherichia coli Gut Colonization Through Nitrate Respiration

open access: yesmBio, 2013
Treatment with streptomycin enhances the growth of human commensal Escherichia coli isolates in the mouse intestine, suggesting that the resident microbial community (microbiota) can inhibit the growth of invading microbes, a phenomenon known as ...

KMT2A degradation is observed in decitabine‐responsive acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that decitabine (DEC) not only degrades the DNA methyltransferase DNMT1 but also the leukemic driver lysine methyltransferase KMT2A likely due to structural similarity of the DNA‐binding CXXC domains. DEC influences KMT2A downstream processes and synergizes with menin inhibitor revumenib (REV) to decrease leukemic cell proliferation, and

Influence of Perfluorodecalin on Growth of Actinomycetes and Intensification of Streptomycin and Daunorubicin Production by the Genus Streptomyces Kind Bacteria in Submerged Culture

open access: yesАнтибиотики и Химиотерапия, 2020
Addition of perfluorodecalin with gas-transporting function to the liquid medium during submerged cultivation of actinomycetes of the genus Streptomyces resulted in higher intensity and level of the biomass synthesis and increased production of ...

Polyfunctional CD8+CD226+RUNX2hi effector T cells are diminished in advanced stages of chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CD226+CD8+ T cells express elevated levels of RUNX2, exhibit higher proliferation capacity, cytokines and cytolytic molecules expression, and migratory capacity. In contrast, CD226−CD8+ T cells display an exhausted phenotype associated with the increased expression of co‐inhibitory receptors and impaired effector functions.

GidB mutation as a phylogenetic marker for Q1 cluster Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates and intermediate-level streptomycin resistance determinant in Lisbon, Portugal.

open access: yesClinical Microbiology and Infection, 2014
Development of streptomycin resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis is usually associated with mutations in rpsL and rrs genes, although up to 50% of clinical streptomycin-resistant isolates may present no mutation in either of these genes.

Cystatin A promotes the antitumor activity of T helper type 1 cells and dendritic cells in murine models of pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a disease with very poor prognosis due to therapeutic limitations. We investigated the antitumor effects of cystatin A (CSTA) in PDAC murine models. We are first to confirm that CSTA enhances T helper type 1‐mediated antitumor effects through promotion of dendritic cells and M1 macrophage activity. CSTA can be

DETERMINATION OF PATHOGEN RESISTANCE TO STREPTOMYCIN

open access: yesCluj Veterinary Journal, 2009
This research was made in order to emphasize the actual incindence of the sensibility of various bacterial pathogens to streptomycin. The pathogens were identified as belonging to Staphylococcus, Escherichia, Citrobacter, Enterobacter, Klebsiella,

Streptomycin use in apple orchards did not increase abundance of mobile resistance genes.

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 2014
Streptomycin is used as a first-line defense and tetracycline as a second-line defense, in the fight against fire blight disease in apple and pear orchards.
