STABILITY OF A STRING INSPIRED INFLATIONARY SCENARIO
International Journal of Modern Physics D, 1998We consider an inflationary model inspired in the low energy limit of string theory. In this model, the scale factor grows exponentially with time, while the scalar fields are time independent. A perturbation study is performed, and we establish the conditions for such a model to be stable or not.

Stability of Nonlinear Oscillations of Stretched Strings
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1969The stability of damped forced vibrations and undamped free vibrations of stretched strings is investigated. The regions of stability for the forced vibrations are plotted in the amplitude-frequency plane. It is shown that undamped planar free vibrations are unstable.

String stability of vehicle platoons
2011In recent years, highway capacity has become a limiting factor, regularly causing traffic jams. Obviously, the road capacity can be increased by decreasing the inter-vehicle following distance di . As a consequence, however, vehicle automation in longitudinal direction is required in order to still guarantee safety. To this end, Adaptive Cruise Control

String Vacua and Moduli Stabilization
2006We give a very basic introduction to the classification of string vacua in the presence of fluxes as well as to the related moduli stabilization problem in the corresponding 4-dimensional effective theories.
