Identification of putative methanol dehydrogenase (moxF) structural genes in methylotrophs and cloning of moxF genes from Methylococcus capsulatus bath and Methylomonas albus BG8 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
An open-reading-frame fragment of a Methylobacterium sp. strain AM1 gene (moxF) encoding a portion of the methanol dehydrogenase structural protein has been used as a hybridization probe to detect similar sequences in a variety of methylotrophic bacteria.

Genome Sequence of Klebsiella oxytoca M5al, a Promising Strain for Nitrogen Fixation and Chemical Production [PDF]

open access: yes
Klebsiella oxytoca is an important microorganism for nitrogen fixation and chemical production. Here, we report an annotated draft genome of K. oxytoca strain M5al that contains 5,256 protein-coding genes and 95 structural RNAs, which provides a genetic ...

Agrobacterial rol genes modify thermodynamic and structural properties of starch in microtubers of transgenic potato [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Wild-type (WT) plants of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) and their transgenic forms carrying agrobacterial genes rolB or rolC under the control of B33 class I patatin promoter were cultured in vitro on MS medium with 2% sucrose in a controlled-climate ...

Gene expression and structure of globin genes of Carp

open access: yesFisheries science, 2002
We cloned eight α- and nine β-globin genes in carp, with the basic structure of vertebrate globin genes, i.e., three exons interrupted with the two introns. In carp globin gene loci, the head-to-head arrangement suggests that the original directions of duplicated ancestral globin genes, prior to the α- and β-globin gene divergence may have occurred in ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Structural organization of polygalacturonase-encoding genes from Penicillium griseoroseum

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2002
The pectinolytic system of Penicillium griseoroseum has been studied as a model to investigate aspects of gene organization in filamentous fungi. Here we show that the endopolygalacturonase-coding genes previously isolated exist as single copies in the ...

Network assisted analysis to reveal the genetic basis of autism

open access: yes, 2015
While studies show that autism is highly heritable, the nature of the genetic basis of this disorder remains illusive. Based on the idea that highly correlated genes are functionally interrelated and more likely to affect risk, we develop a novel ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

FLAVONOID BIOSYNTHESIS GENES IN WHEAT

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2015
The biosynthesis of flavonoid compounds is one of the best-studied metabolic pathways in plants. The researchers’ attention to the biochemical, physiological and genetic aspects of flavonoid biosynthesis is associated primarily with the wide range of ...

Structure of the human ghicagon gene [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1986
A clone containing the complete human glucagon gene was isolated and sequenced. The gene is approximately 9.4 kilobases in length and comprises six exons and five introns. The putative preproglucagon encoded by this gene, 180 amino acids in length and containing glucagon and two glucagon-like peptides, is very similar to that of other mammalian species
