Sestrin2 Mitigates Neuronal Ferroptosis Following Subarachnoid Hemorrhage via Orchestration of the AMPK/PGC1α/Nrf2 Signaling Axis

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 5, May 2026.
The schematic summarizes SESN2's neuroprotective actions after subarachnoid hemorrhage. SESN2 activates an AMPK/PGC1α/Nrf2 signaling cascade that reduces oxidative stress, suppresses neuronal ferroptosis, and improves functional outcomes; these effects were validated by genetic knockdown and pharmacologic inhibition.

Sulforaphane regulates AngII-induced podocyte oxidative stress injury through the Nrf2-Keap1/ho-1/ROS pathway

open access: yesRenal Failure
Objective This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of sulforaphane and the role of the Nrf2-Keap1/HO-1/ROS pathway in AngII-induced oxidative stress in podocyte injury. Methods Mouse mpc5 podocytes were divided into four groups: control ...

Transcriptome reveals the gene expression patterns of sulforaphane metabolism in broccoli florets.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Sulforaphane is a new and effective anti-cancer component that is abundant in broccoli. In the past few years, the patterns of variability in glucosinolate content and its regulation in A. thaliana have been described in detail. However, the diversity of

Differential effects of sulforaphane in regulation of angiogenesis in a co-culture model of endothelial cells and pericytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Aberrant neovascularization supports nutrients and the oxygen microenvironment in tumour growth, invasion and metastasis. Recapitulation of functional microvascular structures in vitro could provide a platform for the study of vascular conditions ...

Curcumin Nanoformulations for Dermatological Applications: From Nutraceuticals to Nanocarriers

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 3, May 2026.
Nanotechnology‐based delivery platforms enhance the cutaneous administration of curcumin. Loading free curcumin into polymeric micelles, metal‐based nanoparticles, nanogels/hydrogels, liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, or nanoemulsions/nanocrystals helps address its low solubility, poor stability and limited skin permeation. As a result, these systems

Sulforaphane Attenuates Endometriosis in Rat Models Through Inhibiting PI3K/Akt Signaling Pathway

open access: yesDose-Response, 2019
Sulforaphane exerts anti-inflammatory activity in inflammatory diseases. The endometriosis (EM) is accompanied by chronic inflammation. The present study aims to explore the therapeutic effects of sulforaphane on EM and its underlying mechanism.

Pharmacological and Mechanistic Interventions for Cognitive Impairment Associated With Schizophrenia: A Review of Registered Clinical Trials

open access: yesActa Psychiatrica Scandinavica, Volume 153, Issue 5, Page 402-431, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Schizophrenia is characterized by positive, negative, and cognitive symptoms. Current pharmacological treatments often fail to address cognitive deficits. In this review of clinical trials, we aim to identify studies that explore neurobiological (non‐psychological) strategies to address Cognitive Impairment Associated with ...

Monovalent mannose‐glycoconjugates of sulforaphane reprogram human dendritic cells via NFATc1 to induce immune tolerance under inflammatory conditions

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 9, Page 1993-2008, May 2026.
Abstract Background and Purpose Immune tolerance prevents inflammation and autoimmunity, with dendritic cells (DCs) playing a key role. Reprogramming DCs towards a tolerogenic state represents a promising therapeutic strategy. Sulforaphane (SFN) has known immunomodulatory effects, but its clinical application is limited by poor stability and ...
