Accumulation of Dense Core Vesicles in Hippocampal Synapses Following Chronic Inactivity. [PDF]
The morphology and function of neuronal synapses are regulated by neural activity, as manifested in activity-dependent synapse maturation and various forms of synaptic plasticity.

The FGFR inhibitor Rogaratinib reduces microglia reactivity and synaptic loss in TBI
BackgroundTraumatic brain injury (TBI) induces an acute reactive state of microglia, which contribute to secondary injury processes through phagocytic activity and release of cytokines.

An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Optimal percentage of inhibitory synapses in multi-task learning
Performing more tasks in parallel is a typical feature of complex brains. These are characterized by the coexistence of excitatory and inhibitory synapses, whose percentage in mammals is measured to have a typical value of 20-30\%.

Abnormal Morphology and Synaptogenic Signaling in Astrocytes Following Prenatal Opioid Exposure
In recent decades, there has been a dramatic rise in the rates of children being born after in utero exposure to drugs of abuse, particularly opioids. Opioids have been shown to have detrimental effects on neurons and glia in the central nervous system ...

Molecular engineering of a nonconjugated radical polymer enables a significant enhancement of the glass transition temperature. The amorphous nature and tunability of the polymer, arising from its nonconjugated backbone, facilitates the fabrication of organic memristive devices with an exceptionally high yield (>95%), as well as substantial ...

Contribution of individual excitatory synapses on dendritic spines to electrical signaling
Dendritic spines, ∼1 μm protrusions from neuronal dendrites that receive most of the excitatory synaptic inputs in the mammalian brain, are widely considered the elementary computational units in the nervous system.
