This research identified cardiac amyloid pathology, neurotrophic factor depletion, and reduced myocardial nerve function in a transgenic model of cerebral amyloidosis (Tg2576), Aβ‐challenged cardiomyocytes, and in human AD heart tissue. These findings carry significant diagnostic and therapeutic implications, emphasizing the role of neuro‐signaling ...

Short Term Memory May Be the Depletion of the Readily Releasable Pool of Presynaptic Neurotransmitter Vesicles [PDF]
The Tagging/Retagging model of short term memory was introduced earlier (1) to explain the linear relationship that exists between response time and correct response probability for word recall and recognition: At the initial stimulus presentation words

Dietary habits play a key role in chronic diseases, and higher annual consumption of fruit and vegetable may lower risk of dementia. Artificial intelligence predicts the lipid‐like compound α‐Amyrin (αA) from plants with edible peels as a drug candidate against Alzheimer's disease.

The results showed that the reduction of plasma 24‐hydroxycholesterol (24‐OHC) was related to the cognitive decline in elderly surgical patients. Neuroinflammation induced by anesthesia and surgery significantly downregulated SREBP2 in hippocampal reactive astrocytes, resulting in reduced cholesterol synthesis.

Functional compensation between clarin‐1 and clarin‐2 in cochlear hair cells. Hearing loss associated with CLRN1 mutations shows striking phenotypic variability; however, the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. This study reveals that clarin‐1 and clarin‐2 function cooperatively in cochlear hair cells to sustain mechanoelectrical ...

SIP30 involvement in vesicle exocytosis from PC12 cells
SNAP25 (synaptosome-associated protein of 25 kDa) is a core SNARE (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment receptor) protein; and the interaction between SNAP25 and other SNARE proteins is essential for synaptic vesicle exocytosis ...

ABSTRACT Heterozygous de novo and inherited biallelic pathogenic variants in DNM1 have been reported in association with autosomal dominant (AD) and autosomal recessive (AR) developmental and epileptic encephalopathy, respectively, due to aberrant dynamin function or expression, with each inheritance pattern associated with a different mechanism of ...
