COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Targeted genome editing in vivo corrects a Dmd duplication restoring wild‐type dystrophin expression

open access: yesEMBO Molecular Medicine, 2021
Tandem duplication mutations are increasingly found to be the direct cause of many rare heritable diseases, accounting for up to 10% of cases. Unfortunately, animal models recapitulating such mutations are scarce, limiting our ability to study them and ...

Review of the development of tandem accelerator laboratory in 35 years

open access: yesHe jishu, 2023
The year 2023 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Beijing Tandem Accelerator Nuclear Physics National Laboratory. Accelerators and nuclear reactors are the two main tools for studying nuclear science. In 1988, the Tandem Laboratory was

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Dakin-West Trick in the Design of Novel 2-Alkyl(aralkyl) Derivatives of Oxazolo[3,2-a]pyridines

open access: yesMolecules, 2005
A series of previously unavailable derivatives of 2-alkyl- and 2-benzylderivatives of oxazolo[3,2-a]pyridines III were obtained via tandem ring opening and ring closure from stable mesoionic 3-acyloxazolo[3,2-a]pyridinium-2-olates I.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Tandem Triphosgene-Assisted Metal-Free One-pot Preparation of Nitriles and Amides from Aldehydes and Ketones

open access: yes, 2021
Here we report a facile and efficient triphosgene-assisted one-pot conversion of aldehydes/ketones into nitriles/amides. The triphosgene, a kind of phosgene alternative, containing both ester linkage and chloromethyl units, easily reacts with oximes for ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
