Lensless Fourier-Transform Terahertz Digital Holography for Full-Field Reflective Imaging

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
Continuous-wave terahertz digital holography (TDH) is a full-field lensless phase imaging approach usually with the coherent THz laser. It has the potential to be applied to nondestructive testing.

Identification of VPA1327 (vopT) as a Novel Genetic Marker for Detecting Pathogenic Vibrio parahaemolyticus

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Microbiology, 2018
Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a Gram-negative bacterium that is ubiquitous in marine and estuarine environments. The pathogenic strains can cause foodborne gastroenteritis especially when raw or undercooked seafood contaminated with pathogenic V ...

A lanthanide-based high-sensitivity fluorescence method for the on-site rapid detection of thermostable direct hemolysin of Vibrio parahaemolyticus

open access: yesJournal of Food Protection, 2023
Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a common foodborne pathogen in seafood, which often causes seafood borne bacterial gastroenteritis or food poisoning. Thermostable direct hemolysin (TDH) is considered to be one of the main virulence factors involved in this ...

Safety of Sodium‐Ion Batteries: Evaluation and Perspective from Component Materials to Cells, Modules, and Packs

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides a bottom‐up evaluation of sodium‐ion battery safety, linking material degradation mechanisms, cell engineering parameters, and module/pack assembly. It emphasizes that understanding intrinsic material stability and establishing coordinated engineering control across hierarchical levels are vital for preventing degradation coupling ...

Characterization of Vibrio Parahaemolyticus isolated from oysters and mussels in São Paulo, Brazil

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 2011
Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a marine bacterium, responsible for gastroenteritis in humans. Most of the clinical isolates produce thermostable direct hemolysin (TDH) and TDH-related hemolysin (TRH) encoded by tdh and trh genes respectively.

A mutant cell line resistant to Vibrio parahaemolyticus thermostable direct hemolysin (TDH): its potential in identification of putative receptor for TDH

open access: yesBiochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Molecular Basis of Disease, 1997
Thermostable direct hemolysin (TDH), a pore-forming toxin produced by Vibrio parahaemolyticus, is cytotoxic to Rat-1, a fibroblast cell line derived from rat embryo. Through mutagenesis of Rat-1 with nitrosoguanidine, we established a mutant cell line, MR-T1. MR-T1 was over 200 times more resistant to the cytotoxic activity of TDH than Rat-1.

Nucleotide sequence of the thermostable direct hemolysin gene (tdh gene) of Vibrio mimicus and its evolutionary relationship with the tdh genes of Vibrio parahaemolyticus [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 1990
The gene encoding a hemolysin similar to the thermostable direct hemolysin (TDH) of Vibrio parahaemolyticus was previously cloned from the chromosome of Vibrio mimicus. The nucleotide sequence of the hemolysin gene was determined in this study. The gene proved to be a variant of the thermostable direct hemolysin gene (tdh gene) and was designated as Vm-

Disinformation and misinformation in epilepsy: An analysis of multiplatform short‐form social media video content

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Short‐form social media content is increasing in popularity but is at risk for propagating health‐related disinformation/misinformation. We aimed to quantify epilepsy‐related disinformation/misinformation on three such platforms: TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Serlogical, virulence, and molecular characterization of clinical and seafood Vibrio parahaemolyticus isolates

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
In this study, 42 clinical and 114 seafood isolates of V. parahaemolyticus from Shanghai, China, were investigated. Serotypes, Kanagawa phenomenon (KP), potential virulence factors, and phylogenetic relationship (gyrB gene) of these isolates were ...
