Synthesis and Antileishmanial Activity of 1,2,4,5-Tetraoxanes against Leishmania donovani [PDF]
A chemically diverse range of novel tetraoxanes was synthesized and evaluated in vitro against intramacrophage amastigote forms of Leishmania donovani. All 15 tested tetraoxanes displayed activity, with IC50 values ranging from 2 to 45 µm.

In vitro assessment of antimicrobial, antioxidant, and cytotoxic properties of Saccharin-Tetrazolyl and-Thiadiazolyl derivatives: the simple dependence of the pH value on antimicrobial activity [PDF]
The antimicrobial, antioxidant, and cytotoxic activities of a series of saccharin-tetrazolyl and -thiadiazolyl analogs were examined. The assessment of the antimicrobial properties of the referred-to molecules was completed through an evaluation of ...

Lead identification and structure-activity relationships of heteroarylpyrazole arylsulfonamides as allosteric CC-chemokine receptor 4 (CCR4) antagonists [PDF]
A knowledge-based library of aryl 2,3-dichlorophenylsulfonamides was synthesised and screened as human CCR4 antagonists, in order to identify a suitable hit for the start of a lead-optimisation programme.

Computationally motivated synthesis and enzyme kinetic evaluation of N-(β-d-glucopyranosyl)-1,2,4-triazolecarboxamides as glycogen phosphorylase inhibitors [PDF]
Following our recent study of N-(β-D-glucopyranosyl)-oxadiazole-carboxamides (Polyák et al., Biorg. Med. Chem. 2013, 21, 5738) revealed as moderate inhibitors of glycogen phosphorylase (GP), in silico docking calculations using Glide have been performed ...

Chemical investigation of light induced DNA bipyrimidine damage and repair [PDF]
In all organisms, genetic information is stored in DNA and RNA. Both of these macromolecules are damaged by many exogenous and endogenous events, with UV irradiation being one of the major sources of damage.

Indium-Mediated Cleavage of the Trityl Group from Protected 1H-Tetrazoles [PDF]
On treatment with indium metal in MeOH–THF, trityl groups undergo reductive removal from 1H-protected tetrazoles (including aliphatic, aromatic, and heteroaromatic substituents), affording the corresponding free tetrazoles in excellent yields, without ...

Long-range 1H-15N J couplings providing a method for direct studies of the structure and azide-tetrazole equilibrium in a series of azido-1,2,4-triazines and azidopyrimidines [PDF]
The selectively 15N labeled azido-1,2,4-triazine 2*A and azidopyrimidine 4*A were synthesized by treating hydrazinoazines with 15N-labeled nitrous acid.

Photochemical Transformations of Tetrazole Derivatives: Applications in Organic Synthesis [PDF]
Tetrazoles remain a challenge to photochemists. Photolysis leads to cleavage of the tetrazolyl ring, may involve various photodegradation pathways and may produce a diversity of photoproducts, depending on the structure and conformational flexibility of

Iridium-catalysed ortho-H/D and -H/T exchange under basic conditions : C-H activation of unprotected tetrazoles [PDF]
The first examples of selective ortho-directed C-H activation with unprotected 2-aryltetrazoles are described. A new base-assisted protocol for iridium (I) hydrogen isotope exchange catalysis allows access to ortho-deuterated and tritiated tetrazoles ...
