Permissive/Protective Interplay of Microbiota with T Cell Adaptive Immune Response in Colon Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Colorectal Research, 2016
Colon microbiota, as a complex and diverse population, has been shown to be either pro- or anti-tumorigenic, depending on itscontent. The composition of microbiota critically determines the differentiation, activation, and expansion of T cells by which ...

A multivariate Th17 metagene for prognostic stratification in T cell non-inflamed triple negative breast cancer

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2019
A diversity of T helper (Th) subsets (Th1, Th2, Th17) has been identified in the human tumor microenvironment. In breast cancer, the role of Th subsets remains controversial, and a systematic study integrating Th subset diversity, T cell inflammation ...

Dual‐Network Protein Hydrogels Promote Rapid Hemostasis and Immune‐Regulated Scarless Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐network protein hydrogel substantially improves hemostasis and scar‐free healing. The adaptive network maintains intimate tissue contact while providing strong wet adhesion, tunable mechanics, and controlled degradation. Concurrent ROS scavenging and M2 polarization suppress fibrotic pathways, preventing scar formation.

D-2-hydroxyglutarate interferes with HIF-1α stability skewing T-cell metabolism towards oxidative phosphorylation and impairing Th17 polarization

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2018
D-2-hydroxyglutarate (D-2HG) is released by various types of malignant cells including acute myeloid leukemia (AML) blasts carrying isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) gain-of-function mutations.

Th17 profile in COPD exacerbations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, 2017
COPD is characterized by an ongoing inflammatory process of the airways that leads to obstruction or limitation of airflow. It is mainly associated with exposure to cigarette smoke. In addition, it is considered, at present, a serious public health problem, ranking fourth in mortality worldwide.

Risk Factors for Small‐for‐Size Syndrome Grade B/C After Simultaneous Splenectomy in Adult Living‐Donor Liver Transplantation

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
In a single‐center cohort of 577 adult LDLT recipients who underwent simultaneous splenectomy, clinically significant SFSS grade B/C (ILTS‐iLDLT‐LTSI 2023) occurred in 18.2% and was associated with inferior graft survival. Multivariate analysis identified MELD ≥ 30, NLR ≥ 4.5, and donor age ≥ 50 years as independent risk factors, which risk rising ...

An increased expression profile of Th9/IL-9 correlated with Th17/IL-17 in patients with immune thrombocytopenia

open access: yesPlatelets, 2017
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is a heterogeneous autoimmune disease, characterized by dysregulation of cellular immunity. Th9 cells were recently identified as a new subtype of Th cells, characterized by preferential production of IL-9.

Polymorphisms in Th17-related genes and the pathogenesis of autoimmune thyroid disease

open access: yesAutoimmunity, 2018
The prognosis of autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) including Graves’ disease (GD) and Hashimoto’s disease (HD) is difficult to predict. We previously suggested that Th17 cells may be associated with the pathogenesis of AITD.
