This study identifies an immunometabolic axis wherein SAM‐driven PRMT1 methylates LDHA, enhancing its activity. The resultant lactate induces STAT3 K709 lactylation, which stabilizes an active conformation to promote STAT3 phosphorylation and IL‐10 expression.

MERS-CoV infection in humans is associated with a pro-inflammatory Th1 and Th17 cytokine profile
HIGHLIGHTSMERS is caused by a single‐stranded RNA virus named MERS‐corona virus.Infection with MERS‐CoV elicits a type‐I and type‐II interferon response.MERS‐CoV infected patients show a prominent Th1 and Th17 cytokine profile.MERS‐CoV infection induces ...

Autoreactive effector CD4+ T cells have been associated with the pathogenesis of autoimmune disorders. Early studies implicated the interferon (IFN)‐γ‐producing T helper (Th)1 subset of CD4+ cells as the causal agents in the pathogenesis of autoimmunity. However, further studies have suggested a more complex story. In models thought to be driven by Th1

ABSTRACT Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by dysregulated T cell responses. RNA helicases, including DExD‐box helicase 21 (DDX21), are pivotal in RNA metabolism, but their role in T cell‐mediated pathology during IBD remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that DDX21 expression in CD4+ T cells correlates with cell cycle and translation ...

Th17 cell responses in spondyloarthritis
Targeting IL-17 has become an important option in the current treatment of spondyloarthritis (SpA). To place this therapeutic advancement in context, we review the discovery and properties of this cytokine, noting those which predispose to inflammation and led to it being considered as an attractive target for the treatment of arthritis, especially SpA.

ICER is requisite for Th17 differentiation [PDF]
AbstractInducible cAMP early repressor (ICER) has been described as a transcriptional repressor isoform of the cAMP response element modulator (CREM). Here we report that ICER is predominantly expressed in Th17 cells through the IL-6–STAT3 pathway and binds to the Il17a promoter, where it facilitates the accumulation of the canonical enhancer RORγt. In

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Th17 Cells in Immunity and Autoimmunity [PDF]
Th17 and IL-17 play important roles in the clearance of extracellular bacterial and fungal infections. However, strong evidence also implicates the Th17 lineage in several autoimmune disorders including multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, and asthma.
