PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Sch9S6K controls DNA repair and DNA damage response efficiency in aging cells

Summary: Survival from UV-induced DNA lesions relies on nucleotide excision repair (NER) and the Mec1ATR DNA damage response (DDR). We study DDR and NER in aging cells and find that old cells struggle to repair DNA and activate Mec1ATR.

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Ultrasmall Platinum Nanoparticles for Radiation‐Enhanced Cancer Therapy

This work proposes a nanomedicine‐based strategy to enhance X‐ray radiotherapy for cancer treatment. Ultrasmall Pt‐NPs exhibit catalase‐like activity that may contribute to modulation of the tumor microenvironment and amplify interactions between radiation and biological matter, leading to increased DNA damage.
