Tuning the Transparency and Exciton Transition of D‐π‐A‐π‐D Type Small Molecules

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Literature‐based molecule preselection has been combined with TDDFT calculations to enhance the discovery of transparent organic small molecules. 54 candidates featuring a D‐π‐A‐π‐D architecture were identified, and 24 molecules were selected for synthesis based on their favorable transparency. Among them, 6 molecules exhibit broad optical windows with

Variation of the Redox Properties and Coordination Chemistry of Redox‐Active Aromatic Diguanidine Ligands with the Substitution Pattern

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The substitution pattern in redox‐active bisguanidino‐dithiolato‐benzene molecules determines the redox properties and the electronic structures of copper compounds. The redox properties of organic molecules like quinones are generally tuned by substitutions at the π‐conjugated system or by changing the size of the π‐conjugated core.

Structural design and property regulation of organic polymers for photocatalytic synthesis of H2O2

open access: yesInfoScience, EarlyView.
Photocatalytic synthesis of H2O2 offers a sustainable approach. Photocatalytic efficiency depends critically on interfacial electron transfer kinetics and spatial charge separation. Herein, we systematically analyze key factors governing photogenerated carrier dynamics and propose engineered strategies to optimize performance, thereby providing design ...

Versatile Direct (Hetero)Arylation Polymerization of Electro‐Deficient Unsubstituted Thiazolo[5,4‐d]Thiazole: A Tool to Lower the LUMO Level

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
An unsubstituted thiazolo[5,4‐d]thiazole (TzTz) unit is used to synthesize a series of novel semiconducting polymers via eco‐friendly direct arylation polymerization. These TzTz‐based copolymers, with various electron‐withdrawing comonomers, display optical bandgaps of 1.5–2.0 eV and strong thermal stability.
