Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

A Hopf Bifurcation in a Three-Component Reaction-Diffusion System with a Chemoattraction
We consider a three-component reaction-diffusion system with a chemoattraction. The purpose of this work is to analyze the chemotactic effects due to the gradient of the chemotactic sensitivity and the shape of the interface.

On the Formation of CO2 and Other Interstellar Ices
We investigate the formation and evolution of interstellar dust-grain ices under dark-cloud conditions, with a particular emphasis on CO2. We use a three-phase model (gas/surface/mantle) to simulate the coupled gas--grain chemistry, allowing the ...

Phosphosulfonic acid, an efficient solid acid catalyst for the one-pot preparation of 14-aryl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthenes and 1,8-dioxo-octahydro-xanthenes under solvent-free conditions [PDF]
An expeditious procedure for the synthesis of 14- aryl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthenes and 1,8-dioxo-octahydro-xanthenes through one-pot pseudo three component condensation of β-naphthol or dimedone with various aryl aldehydes is described.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.
