Membranous Nephropathy With an Enhanced Granular Expression of Thrombospondin Type-1 Domain-Containing 7A in a Pregnant Woman

open access: yesInternal Medicine, 2016
A 30-year-old woman with proteinuria first noted at 26 weeks of gestation was admitted to undergo further evaluation. A renal biopsy revealed membranous nephropathy (MN). There was no evidence of any secondary MN. Prednisolone was initiated 6 months after delivery. Four months later, her urine protein became negative.

Fibroblast Growth Factor-2 Binding to the Thrombospondin-1 Type III Repeats, a Novel Antiangiogenic Domain

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, 2008
Thrombospondin-1, an antiangiogenic matricellular protein, binds with high affinity to the angiogenic fibroblast growth factor-2, affecting its bioavailability and activity.

Structure of the N-terminal didomain d1_d2 of the Thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing 7A

2023
Abstract Thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing 7A (THSD7A) is a large extracellular protein that is found in podocyte foot processes of the kidney glomerulus. It has been established as a causative autoantigen in membranous nephropathy.

Association of the Formiminotransferase N-Terminal Sub-Domain Containing Gene and Thrombospondin, Type 1, Domain-Containing 7A Gene With the Prevalence of Vertebral Fracture in 2427 Consecutive Autopsy Cases [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Human Genetics, 2013
We previously reported 2 osteoporosis-susceptibility genes--formiminotransferase N-terminal sub-domain containing gene (FONG) and thrombospondin, type 1, domain-containing 7A (THSD7A)--in which we identified two common single-nucleotide polymorphisms, rs7605378 (FONG) and rs12673692 (THSD7A).

Features of phospholipase A2 receptor and thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing 7A in malignancy-associated membranous nephropathy

Journal of Clinical Pathology, 2019
Aims Phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) and thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing 7A (THSD7A) were identified as pathogenic antigens in patients with membranous nephropathy (MN). Notably, PLA2R is detected in few patients with malignancy-associated MN, and a high incidence of cancer is reported in patients with

Circulating antibodies against M-type phospholipase A2 receptor and thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing 7A in Chinese patients with membranous nephropathy

International Urology and Nephrology, 2019
M-type phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) and thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing 7A (THSD7A) have recently been identified as target antigens for patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN). The prevalence of PLA2R and THSD7A in the serum of MN patients deserves further investigation. Here, we studied the presence of anti-PLA2R and anti ...

M-type Phospholipase A2 Receptor (PLA2R) and Thrombospondin Type-1 Domain-Containing 7A (THSD7A) in Membranous Nephropathy

2016
Membranous nephropathy (MN) is the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome in Caucasians adults. It is defined by the presence of subepithelial immune deposits localized between the podocyte and the glomerular basement membrane (GBM) on electron microscopy examination (EM).

Development and clinical application of a highly sensitive serological assay for detecting thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing 7A antibodies in idiopathic membranous nephropathy

Journal of Immunological Methods
To establish a highly sensitive serological assay for detecting serum thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing 7 A antibodies (THSD7A-Ab) in patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN), thereby addressing the current gap in available diagnostic biomarkers.A time-resolved fluorescence immunoassay (TRFIA) was established by immobilizing THSD7A ...

Zhongguo yi xue ke xue yuan xue bao. Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae, 2023
Objective To investigate the clinical significance of thrombospondin type 1 domain-containing 7A (THSD7A) and neural epidermal growth factor-like 1 protein (NELL1) in phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R)-negative membranous nephropathy (MN). Methods A total of 116 PLA2R-negative MN patients treated in Hangzhou TCM Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang Chinese ...
