Tigecycline efflux as a mechanism for nonsusceptibility in acinetobacter baumannii [PDF]
Tigecycline has an extended spectrum of in vitro antimicrobial activities, including that against multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter. After identifying bloodstream isolates of Acinetobacter with reduced susceptibilities to tigecycline, we performed a ...

Carbapenem‐Resistant Gram‐Negative Bacilli in Mauritania: A Major Public Health Threat
Carbapenem‐resistant Gram‐negative bacilli remain uncommon (4.42%) in Mauritania but are dominated by Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli. Preserved activity of colistin, tigecycline, and amikacin highlights a narrowing therapeutic window and the urgent need for sustained surveillance and antimicrobial stewardship.

Integrated phenotypic, genotypic, and functional characterization of clinical Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B streptococcus, GBS) isolates from maternal carriage. Combination of selected Lactobacillus species effectively antagonize S. agalactiae by limiting bacterial growth, preserving epithelial cell viability, and reducing pathogen adhesion ...
