The role of different substituents in position 2 of 6,6‐diphenyl‐1,4‐dioxane muscarinic receptor ligands in the affinity for the five muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR) subtypes was studied. The tertiary amine 9 and its eutomer (S)‐(–)‐9 showed picomolar affinity and biphasic curves for all mAChRs.
