Studies on the kinetics of plasminogen activation by tissue plasminogen activator
BBA - Proteins and Proteomics, 1982The steady-state rate of plasminogen activation by tissue plasminogen activator has been determined at various plasminogen concentrations. A plasmin substrate method similar to that presented by Christensen and Müllertz (Biochim. Biophys. Acta 480 (1977) 257-281) was used.

Lipoprotein(a) inhibition of plasminogen activation by tissue-type plasminogen activator
Thrombosis Research, 1990Here experimental evidence is presented demonstrating that Lp(a) inhibits the activation of Pg by the physiologic activator tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) bound to fibrinogen fragments. The competitive inhibition constant, Kie, of the Lp(a) inhibition is 22 nM, or 8.6 mg/dL which corresponds to normal plasma ...

Tissue Activator of Plasminogen
Nature, 1964SINCE Astrup and Permin1 reported that animal tissue cells contain an activator of plasminogen, various authors have confirmed their results, and comparisons of the activator content of different human2 and animal tissues3,4 have been published. Most authors have used whole tissue or aqueous tissue extracts and have estimated activity by the fibrin ...

Activation of Bovine Plasminogen by the Plasminogen Activator in Animal Tissue
Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 1960Summary1. The activation of bovine plasminogen by means of the plasminogen activator from pig heart tissue has been studied on heated fibrin and on casein.2. Small, but varying, amounts of activator can be extracted from crude activator powder during the experiment and interfere therefore with estimations on normal, plasminogen containing fibrin.3. The

Plasminogen activation by tissue plasminogen activator in the presence of platelets
Thrombosis Research, 1988Platelets were found to provide a surface for activation of plasminogen by the tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) at an optimum concentration and to potentiate the generation of plasmin by the amidolytic method, fibrin lysis time and fibrin plate method.

Tissue-Type Plasminogen Activator
Haemostasis, 2009Tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) is a serine protease with a molecular weight of about 70,000. It activates plasminogen to plasmin by cleavage of the Arg 560-Val 561 peptide bond. Kinetic analysis showed that the activation obeys Michaelis-Menten kinetics and that the presence of fibrin strikingly enhances the activation rate.
