Messenger RNA expression of toll-like receptors (TLR2, TLR4, and TLR9) in HIV-1 infected patients with and without tuberculosis co-infection

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mycobacteriology, 2022
Background: Gene expression levels of TLRs (TLR2, TLR4 and TLR9) are directly involved in the virus recognition and initiation of innate immune responses, therefore, the effect of HIV infection on TLRs gene expression was investigated in functional ...

Toll-Like Receptors Serve as Biomarkers for Early Diagnosis and Prognosis Assessment of Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma by Influencing the Immune Microenvironment: Comprehensive Bioinformatics Analysis Combined With Experimental Validation

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences, 2022
Background: Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are important initiators of innate and acquired immune responses. However, its role in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) remains unclear. Methods: TLRs and their relationships with KIRC were studied in detail ...

Crosstalk between Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptors andToll-Like Receptors: A Systematic Review [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2019
As one of the four major families of pattern recognition receptors (PRRs), toll like receptors (TLRs)are crucial and important components of the innate immune system. Peroxisome proliferatoractivatedreceptors (PPARs) with three isoforms are transcription

TLRs as miRNA Receptors [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Research, 2012
Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNA) are small noncoding RNAs with gene regulatory functions. Their expression is frequently dysregulated in almost all human tumors and they can be found circulating within exosomes secreted by cancer cells. In addition to being promising cancer biomarkers with diagnostic, prognostic, and theranostic implications ...

Two Modes of Ligand Recognition by TLRs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are membrane-bound sensors that detect and respond to microbial infection. Two studies in Cell, one in this issue, reveal how TLRs recognize their ligands. Kim et al.

Toll-Like Receptors in Malaria: Gatekeepers of Innate Immunity and Pathogenesis

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Microbiology
Plasmodium parasites, transmitted to human blood via the bite of the Anopheles mosquito, cause malaria, an acute and severe disease that can potentially be fatal.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
