A kinase cascade leading to Rab11-FIP5 controls transcytosis of the polymeric immunoglobulin receptor

open access: yes, 2010
Polymeric immunoglobulin A (pIgA) transcytosis, mediated by the polymeric immunoglobulin receptor (pIgR), is a central component of mucosal immunity and a model for regulation of polarized epithelial membrane traffic.

Boron‐embedded multifunctional nanoplatform toward potential combined boron neutron capture therapy and immunomodulation in glioma

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
A brain‐targeting multifunctional nanoplatform (DM&Ce6@COF‐Ang) was engineered by employing boron‐enriched APTES‐COF‐1 as both the therapeutic boron agent and the nanocarrier co‐delivery of DMXAA and Ce6. This nanoplatform achieved synergistic tumor‐specific boron delivery, real‐time pharmacokinetic monitoring, and immunomodulation.

The SRC family protein tyrosine kinase p62yes controls polymeric IgA transcytosis in vivo

open access: yes, 1999
Transcytosis of polymeric immunoglobulin A (pIgA) across epithelial cells is mediated by the polymeric immunoglobulin receptor (pIgR). Binding of pIgA to pIgR stimulates transcytosis of the pIgA-pIgR complex via a signal transduction pathway that is ...

Microplastics and the Endocrine–Metabolic Interface: Novel Diagnostic Tools Targeting Thyroid–Adipose Axis

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microplastics (MPs) have been identified as major environmental contaminants that can affect organisms directly and act as carriers of particles and chemical additives, thereby aggravating endocrine networks that coordinate metabolic homeostasis.

In vitro HIV-1 transcytosis inhibition by vaginal antibodies.

open access: yes, 2013
Vaginal samples were collected from placebo and MYM-V101 vaccinated groups for exploratory work on transcytosis. Panel A (Visit 9/week 25) and B (Visit 10/week 29) are showing the measured mean values of transcytosis inhibition with standard deviations ...
