IMMUNOLOGICAL MEMORY: THE ROLE OF REGULATORY CELLS (TREGS)

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2018
Memory T cells are necessary for development of the immune response and represent one of the most numerous population of human T lymphocytes. On the contrary, suppressive regulatory T cells (Tregs) may terminate the immune response and help to maintain ...

Natural Tregs and autoimmunity

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience, 2009
The subset of CD4+ T lymphocytes that coexpress high levels of the interleukin (IL)-2 a receptor and the transcription factor Foxp3, commonly called regulatory T cells (Tregs), have a key role in the mechanisms of peripheral immune tolerance. Tregs modulate innate and adaptive immune responses in vitro and in vivo by suppressing the proliferation and ...

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.

Tregitopes switch on Tregs

open access: yesBlood, 2008
In this issue of Blood, De Groot and colleagues report the identification and functional characterization of Tregitopes, which are Treg-activating regions in the Fc portion of the IgG molecule. This important finding has the potential to bring understanding about a number of phenomena related to Ig, including tolerance to Ab variable regions, the ...

rWTC‐MBTA Vaccine, Alone and Enhanced with Anti‐PD1, Elicits Immune Responses against CNS and Peripheral B‐Cell Lymphoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An autologous whole‐tumor‐cell vaccine (rWTC‐MBTA) is evaluated in murine CNS lymphoma. Subcutaneous vaccination activates dendritic cells, broadens T‐cell priming, and drives lymphocyte trafficking to brain tumors, producing durable tumor control. Longitudinal bioluminescence and adoptive‐transfer assays verify CNS engagement. Combination with anti‐PD‐

Lymphocyte metabolism and the level of circulatory cytokines in children with autoimmune disease

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология
In recent decades, there has been an increase in the incidence of autoimmune diseases (AID) among adults and children. The immunopathogenesis of AID is based on an imbalance between autoaggressive and regulatory cells (Tregs), which is regulated by ...

Caerulomycin A suppresses the differentiation of naïve T cells and alleviates the symptoms of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis

open access: yesAutoimmunity, 2017
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a highly detrimental autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. There is no cure for it but the treatment typically focuses on subsiding severity and recurrence of the disease.

The Four types of Tregs in malignant lymphomas

open access: yesJournal of Hematology & Oncology, 2011
Regulatory T cells (Tregs) are a specialized subpopulation of CD4+ T cells, which act to suppress the activation of other immune cells. Tregs represent important modulators for the interaction between lymphomas and host microenvironment.

A Lung‐Immune Dual‐Humanized Mouse Using Cryopreserved Tissue Enables Infection and Immune Profiling of Human Common Cold Coronaviruses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cryopreserved lung‐humanized mice overcome the dependency to fresh tissues and permit head‐to‐head profiling of all four human common cold coronaviruses versus SARS‐CoV‐2 infection; the model validates Paxlovid efficacy against HKU1 and, when coupled with human immune‐system engraftment, enables interrogation of lung‐resident human immunity and HKU1 ...

Tregs and rethinking cancer immunotherapy [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 2007
Tumors express antigens that should induce immune-mediated rejection, but spontaneous rejection of established tumors is rare. Recent work demonstrates that one reason for the lack of tumor rejection is that tumors actively defeat host immunity. This concept forces us to rethink current approaches to harnessing potent, specific host immunity to battle ...
