TRPV2 Channels Contribute to Stretch-Activated Cation Currents and Myogenic Constriction in Retinal Arterioles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Purpose: Activation of the transient receptor potential channels, TRPC6, TRPM4, and TRPP1 (PKD2), has been shown to contribute to the myogenic constriction of cerebral arteries.

Involvement of TRPV3 and TRPM8 ion channel proteins in induction of mammalian cold-inducible proteins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Cold-inducible RNA-binding protein (CIRP), RNA-binding motif protein 3 (RBM3) and serine and arginine rich splicing factor 5 (SRSF5) are RNA-binding proteins that are transcriptionally upregulated in response to moderately low temperatures and a variety ...

The Concise Guide to PHARMACOLOGY 2025/26: Ion channels

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 182, Issue S1, Page S152-S241, December 2025.
The Concise Guide to Pharmacology 2025/26 marks the seventh edition in this series of biennial publications in the British Journal of Pharmacology. Presented in landscape format, the guide provides a comparative overview of the pharmacology of drug target families. The concise nature of the Concise Guide refers to the style of presentation, being clear,

Transient receptor potential channels in Flaviviridae infection: A comprehensive review

open access: yesChannels
Diseases caused by Flaviviridae viruses exert profound global health and economic burdens due to their high incidence and associated mortality. Infection by the Flaviviridae family often leads to severe acute or chronic illnesses, including hemorrhagic ...

TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 19, Issue 10, Page 2905-2920, October 2025.
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

What do we know about the transient receptor potential vanilloid 2 (TRPV2) ion channel? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Transient receptor potential (TRP) ion channels are emerging as a new set of membrane proteins involved in a vast array of cellular processes and regulated by a large number of physical and chemical stimuli, which involves them with sensory cell ...

Identification of transient receptor potential channel genes from the swimming crab, Portunus Trituberculatus, and their expression profiles under acute temperature stress

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Background Temperature is an important environment factor that is critical to the survival and growth of crustaceans. However, the mechanisms by which crustaceans detect changes in temperature are still unclear.

Reactive Oxygen Species‐Mediated TRPM2 Activation Facilitates Phagocytosis of Macrophages to Reverse Profibrotic Phenotype

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 45, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Macrophages play plastic roles during fibrogenesis and fibrosis regression. Phagocytosis is considered a trigger for shifting macrophages from a profibrotic phenotype to a restorative phenotype. However, the underlying mechanism by which macrophages enhance phagocytosis remains unclear.

Deciphering the skeletal interoceptive circuitry to control bone homeostasis

open access: yesBMEMat, Volume 3, Issue 3, September 2025.
This review introduces the skeletal interoceptive circuitry, covering the ascending signals from bone tissues to the brain (sensors), the central neural circuits that integrate this information and dispatch commands (CPU), and the descending pathways that regulate bone homeostasis (effectors).
