Two‐Dimensional Materials as a Multiproperty Sensing Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Various sensing modalities enabled and/or enhanced by two‐dimensional (2D) materials are reviewed. The domains considered for sensing include: 1) optoelectronics, 2) quantum defects, 3) scanning probe microscopy, 4) nanomechanics, and 5) bio‐ and chemosensing.

Gravitational Tunneling Radiation

open access: yes, 2002
The isolated black hole radiation of both Hawking and Zel'dovich are idealized abstractions as there is always another body to distort the potential. This is considered with respect to both gravitational tunneling, and black hole "no-hair" theorems.

In Situ Study of Resistive Switching in a Nitride‐Based Memristive Device

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ TEM biasing experiment demonstrates the volatile I‐V characteristic of MIM lamella device. In situ STEM‐EELS Ti L2/L3 ratio maps provide direct evidence of the oxygen vacancies migrations under positive/negative electrical bias, which is critical for revealing the RS mechanism for the MIM lamella device.

Simulation and Fabrication of Double Barrier Structure of P-I-N Amorphous Silicon (a-Si) Device

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical and Fundamental Sciences, 2019
. The application of double barrier (DB) structure in p-i-n amorphous silicon (a-Si) device was studied. The theoretical study was done to obtain device parameters such as tunneling probability and current density.

From a single- to a double-well Penning trap

open access: yes, 2010
The new generation of planar Penning traps promises to be a flexible and versatile tool for quantum information studies. Here, we propose a fully controllable and reversible way to change the typical trapping harmonic potential into a double-well ...

Determination of the tunneling flight time as the reflected phase time

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2021
Using the time parameter in the time-dependent Schr\"odinger equation, we study the time of flight for a particle tunneling through a square barrier potential.

Molecular Cross‐Linking of MXenes: Tunable Interfaces and Chemiresistive Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, Ti3C2Tx MXenes are initially functionalized using oleylamine ligands to form stable dispersions in an organic solvent. Subsequently ligand exchange with α,ω‐diaminoalkanes enables cross‐linking, along with precise tuning of interfaces. This structural control translates into tunable charge transport and responsive VOC sensing, showing ...

Transport properties through graphene with sequence of alternative magnetic barriers and wells in the presence of time-periodic scalar potential

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
We investigate the electronic transport properties of a graphene sheet under the magnetic barriers and wells through the oscillating scalar potential combined with the static scalar potential barrier having two types of uniform and alternative profiles ...

Exchange Coupling in a One-Dimensional Wigner Crystal

open access: yes, 2005
We consider a long quantum wire at low electron densities. In this strong interaction regime a Wigner crystal may form, in which electrons comprise an antiferromagnetic Heisenberg spin chain.
