A Soft Robotic Morphing Wing for Unmanned Underwater Vehicles
This study presents the design and hydrodynamic characterization of a soft wing for implementation on underwater gliders. Through hydraulic actuation, the soft wing deforms and adjusts its lift‐to‐drag ratio, which ranges from −70% to +10% with respect to a rigid wing.

Man-in-the-Loop Control and Mission Planning for Unmanned Underwater Vehicles
UUVs (unmanned underwater vehicles) perform tasks in the marine environment under direction from a commander through a mother ship control system. In cases where communication is available, a UUV task re-planning system was designed to ensure task ...

The distillability problem revisited
An important open problem in quantum information theory is the question of the existence of NPT bound entanglement. In the past years, little progress has been made, mainly because of the lack of mathematical tools to address the problem.

Lifshitz entanglement entropy from holographic cMERA
We study entanglement entropy in free Lifshitz scalar field theories holographically by employing the metrics proposed by Nozaki, Ryu and Takayanagi in \cite{Nozaki:2012zj} obtained from a continuous multi-scale entanglement renormalisation ansatz (cMERA)

A Polar Initial Alignment Algorithm for Unmanned Underwater Vehicles
Due to its highly autonomy, the strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) is widely used in unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV) navigation. Initial alignment is crucial because the initial alignment results will be used as the initial SINS value, which ...

Universal attraction force-inspired freeform surface modeling for 3D sketching [PDF]
This paper presents a novel freeform surface modeling method to construct a freeform surface from 3D sketch. The approach is inspired by Newton’s universal attraction force law to construct a surface model from rough boundary curves and unorganized ...
