Variable structure active suspension system
Proceedings of the 1996 IEEE IECON. 22nd International Conference on Industrial Electronics, Control, and Instrumentation, 2002The active suspension of vehicles for greater ride comfort on rough roads is investigated in the literature using optimal control and MRAC schemes. A new approach, based on variable structure control, for the design of a model following active suspension system is presented in this paper.

Since its introduction in the early sixties, optimal control has been used extensively to determine strategies in many areas of economics. Economic policies based on closed loop optimal control (CLOC) laws are the most powerful and stable, but yield a control vector with continuously changing components.

Multimodel variable structure control system
[1991] Proceedings of the 30th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002A novel tracking control algorithm is developed and proposed for multimodel deterministic systems using the variable structure control technique (VSS). The location phase is achieved using an auxiliary input called the state correction to minimize the difference between the process variables and the model variables.

Variable Structure Control of Nonlinear Systems
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1995Abstract A class of nonlinear systems expressed by nonlinear differential equations with uncertain parameters is investigated. The nonlinear model is transformed into a linear model with parameters varying in definite intervals. Variable-structure control in sliding mode is designed. The sliding mode is realized with respect to an auxiliary variable.

VARIABLE STRUCTURE CONTROLLERS IN MOTION CONTROL SYSTEMS
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992Abstract The VSS approach to motion control system design is presented in this paper. The selection of the sliding mode manifolds, the synthesis of the control inputs and the sliding mode manifolds estimation are discussed. The switching pattern, for switching converter operation is determined from the sliding mode existence conditions.

Variable structure model reference adaptive control systems
International Journal of Control, 1984Model reference adaptive controllers, when only input and output measurements are available, are designed using the theory of variable structure systems. State variable filters are used in order to obtain differentiator-free controllers. The proposed design allows the error transient to be prescribed in advance.

Hyperstability in variable structure systems
1980 19th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control including the Symposium on Adaptive Processes, 1980Reaching and existence conditions for variable structure systems are considered using hyperstability theory. A new sufficient condition for linear, time invariant systems is derived, and an example is given to illustrate how the condition is more relaxed than the sufficient condition presently used for such systems.

Variable Structure Control of Sampled-Data Systems
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1997Abstract For a continuous-time systenl, a sliding sector is designed as a subspace of system state space, where some norm of the system state decreases. The continuoustime VSS control law is designed to Inove the system state from the outside to the inside of the PR-sliding sector while the norn1 keeps decreasing. In the paper.

Variable Structure Control for Interval Systems
2007 Chinese Control Conference, 2006A variable structure control method is proposed for a class of interval systems. In terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), a sufficient condition is given for the existence of linear sliding mode surface guaranteeing asymptotic stability of the reduced-order equivalent sliding mode dynamics.

DECENTRALIZED VARIABLE STRUCTURE CONTROL OF COMPLEX SYSTEMS
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1994Abstract The paper considers the problem of stabilizing large scale dynamic systems (LSS) via decentralized controllers based on Variable Structure Systems (VSS) and using the principle of dominant subsystems. The principle and applications for LSS are described and simulation test results on a two- machines power system with nonlinear model are ...
