PARISROC, a Photomultiplier Array Integrated Read Out Chip [PDF]
PARISROC is a complete read out chip, in AMS SiGe 0.35 !m technology, for photomultipliers array. It allows triggerless acquisition for next generation neutrino experiments and it belongs to an R&D program funded by the French national agency for ...

ATP Transport through VDAC and the VDAC–Tubulin Complex Probed by Equilibrium and Nonequilibrium MD Simulations [PDF]
Voltage-dependent anion channel (VDAC), the major channel of the mitochondrial outer membrane, serves as a principal pathway for ATP, ADP, and other respiratory substrates across this membrane. Using umbrella-sampling simulations, we established the thermodynamic and kinetic components governing ATP transport across the VDAC1 channel.

Colorectal cancer is characterized by an immunosuppressive microenvironment that limits immunotherapy efficacy. We identify a senescence‐like state in germinal center B cells driven by the PRELID1–VDAC3 axis, which promotes IL‐7 secretion, alleviates CD8+ T‐cell exhaustion, and enhances antitumor immunity. Targeting this pathway improves responsiveness

Methylation of the Gpat2 promoter regulates transient expression during mouse spermatogenesis [PDF]
Spermatogenesis is a highly regulated process that involves both mitotic and meiotic divisions, as well as cellular differentiation to yield mature spermatozoa from undifferentiated germinal stem cells.

VDAC structure, selectivity, and dynamics
VDAC channels exist in the mitochondrial outer membrane of all eukaryotic organisms. Of the different isoforms present in one organism, it seems that one of these is the canonical VDAC whose properties and 3D structure are highly conserved. The fundamental role of these channels is to control the flux of metabolites between the cytosol and ...

Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) infection creates a high‐lactate microenvironment, promoting p300‐mediated lactylation of PGK1 at lysine 361 (K361). Lactylated PGK1 translocates to the mitochondrial outer membrane and interacts with VDAC3. This interaction triggers FtMt downregulation, iron accumulation, and excessive PINK1/Parkin‐mediated mitophagy,

Abstract Background Membrane contact sites are crucial for the exchange of ions or lipids and thus are critical for the function and maintenance of organelles. VPS13A is a membrane‐residing, bridge‐like protein connecting two membranes to enable bulk lipid transfer. Loss‐of‐function mutations in the VPS13A gene cause VPS13A disease.

Mitochondrial Ca(2+) uptake by the voltage-dependent anion channel 2 regulates cardiac rhythmicity. [PDF]
Tightly regulated Ca(2+) homeostasis is a prerequisite for proper cardiac function. To dissect the regulatory network of cardiac Ca(2+) handling, we performed a chemical suppressor screen on zebrafish tremblor embryos, which suffer from Ca(2+) extrusion ...

VDAC closure increases calcium ion flux
VDAC is the major permeability pathway in the mitochondrial outer membrane and can control the flow of metabolites and ions. Therefore Ca(2+) flux across the outer membrane occurs mainly through VDAC. Since both Ca(2+) fluxes and VDAC are involved in apoptosis, we examined whether Ca(2+) is required for channel formation by VDAC isolated from rat liver.
