Placental Pathology and Placental Growth Factor (PlGF)/Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-1 (VEGFR-1) Pathway Expression Evaluation in Fetal Congenital Heart Defects [PDF]

open access: yesLife
The heart and placenta have simultaneous embryologic development, the interactions between the two organs representing the heart–placental axis. They both share key developmental pathways, one of which involves the placental growth factor (PlGF) and its ...

VEGFR-1 Regulates EGF-R to Promote Proliferation in Colon Cancer Cells [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019
The relationship between epidermal growth factor (EGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathways in tumor growth is well established. EGF induces VEGF production in cancer cells, and the paracrine VEGF activates vascular endothelial cells to promote tumor angiogenesis and thus supports tumor cell growth in an angiogenesis-dependent manner.

Ventilation-induced changes correlate to pulmonary vascular response and VEGF, VEGFR-1/2, and eNOS expression in the rat model of postnatal hypoxia [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2018
Neonatal asphyxia occurs due to reduction in oxygen supply to vital organs in the newborn. Rapid restoration of oxygen to the lungs after a long period of asphyxia can cause lung injury and decline of respiratory function, which result from the activity ...

High Expression of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-1 (VEGFR-1) is Highly Correlated with Eclampsia

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2012
Objectives: To understand the expression of placental vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR-1) in severe preeclampsia with complication (eclampsia and HELLP syndrome). Methods: The study was an observational study with cross sectional design,

VEGFR-1 blockade disrupts peri-implantation decidual angiogenesis and macrophage recruitment

open access: yesVascular Cell, 2014
Background: Angiogenesis and macrophage recruitment to the uterus are key features of uterine decidualization; the progesterone-mediated uterine changes that allow for embryo implantation and initiation of pregnancy. In the current study, we characterized the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 (VEGFR-1) in macrophages and ...

Synthesis, Characterization, Antioxidant Evaluation, Cytotoxicity Studies, and Molecular Docking of Novel Sulfonamide Derivatives. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Biochem Mol Toxicol
A series of novel sulfonamide derivatives (4a–i) were synthesized and characterized. Compound 4d showed significant antioxidant activity, while compounds 4g, 4h, and 4i exhibited high cytotoxicity against ovarian and prostate cancer cells, particularly 4h with a log IC50 of 1.343 µg/mL.

VEGFR-2 blockade induces tumor T cell infiltration.

open access: yes, 2022
MC38 tumor bearing mice were treated with 40mg/kg Rat IgG, MF1 (anti-VEGFR-1), DC101 (anti-VEGFR-2) and mF4-31C1 (VEGFR-3) at a single dose, and then tumors were collected on day 14.

Proteogenomic characterization of cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Proteogenomic characterization of cholangiocarcinoma with therapeutic strategies Abstract Background and Aims Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a highly heterogeneous cancer with limited understanding and few effective therapeutic approaches. We aimed at providing a proteogenomic CCA characterization to inform biological processes and treatment ...

ALK1 controls hepatic vessel formation, angiodiversity, and angiocrine functions in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia of the liver

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Hepatic endothelial Alk1 signaling protects from development of vascular malformations while maintaining organ‐specific endothelial differentiation and angiocrine portmanteau of the names Wingless and Int‐1 signaling. Abstract Background and Aims In hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), severe liver vascular malformations are associated with ...
