Study on Fast Temporal Prediction Method of Flame Propagation Velocity in Methane Gas Deflagration Experiment Based on Neural Network

open access: yesEnergies
To address the challenges of high experimental costs, complexity, and time consumption associated with pre-mixed combustible gas deflagration experiments under semi-open space obstacle conditions, a rapid temporal prediction method for flame propagation ...

Bearing-Only Obstacle Avoidance Based on Unknown Input Observer and Angle-Dependent Artificial Potential Field

open access: yesSensors, 2018
This paper presents the problem of obstacle avoidance with bearing-only measurements in the case that the obstacle motion is model-free, i.e., its acceleration is absolutely unknown, which cannot be dealt with by the mainstream Kalman-like schemes based ...

Single‐ and Dual‐Atom Configurations in Atomically Dispersed Catalysts for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐atom and dual‐atom‐based atomically dispersed catalysts (ADCs) effectively address the shuttle effect and sluggish redox kinetics in Li–S batteries. With nearly 100% atomic utilization and tunable coordination environments, ADCs enhance LiPSs adsorption, lower conversion barriers, and accelerate sulfur redox reactions.

On the analogy between streamlined magnetic and solid obstacles

open access: yes, 2009
Analogies are elaborated in the qualitative description of two systems: the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow moving through a region where an external local magnetic field (magnetic obstacle) is applied, and the ordinary hydrodynamic flow around a solid ...

A Non‐Reciprocal Architected Porous Medium

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In several fluid flow, energy‐dumping, and energy‐harvesting applications, a dominant flow direction or dominant resistance direction is desirable. In this study, we propose a simple modular geometry that doubles flow resistance in one direction relative to the opposite direction, while maintaining laminar viscous flow.

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

Lattice Boltzmann versus Molecular Dynamics simulation of nano-hydrodynamic flows

open access: yes, 2006
A fluid flow in a simple dense liquid, passing an obstacle in a two-dimensional thin film geometry, is simulated by Molecular Dynamics (MD) computer simulation and compared to results of Lattice Boltzmann (LB) simulations.
