A multivalent antiviral platform based on honeycomb‐shaped DNA nanostructures (HC–Urumin) is developed to enhance the potency and breadth of the host defense peptide Urumin. Through spatially patterned trimeric presentation, HC–Urumin disrupts influenza A virus entry, improves cell viability, and reduces disease severity in vivo‐offering a modular and ...

Envelope virus assembly and budding
For many enveloped viruses, viral matrix and retroviral Gag proteins are able to bud from the cell surface by themselves in the form of lipid-enveloped, virus-like particles (VLPs), suggesting that these proteins play important roles in viral assembly and budding.

A bimetallic Mn–Ca nanoreactor (MCC) is developed as a non‐nucleotide STING nanoagonist for cancer metalloimmunotherapy. MCC induces Ca2+ overload and hydroxyl radical generation, resulting in mitochondrial damage and mtDNA release. The released mtDNA cooperates with Mn2+ to robustly activate cGAS–STING signaling.

The Morphology and Assembly of Respiratory Syncytial Virus Revealed by Cryo-Electron Tomography
Human respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the leading cause of lower respiratory tract disease in young children. With repeat infections throughout life, it can also cause substantial disease in the elderly and in adults with compromised cardiac ...

Influenza A Virus Assembly Intermediates Fuse in the Cytoplasm
Reassortment of influenza viral RNA (vRNA) segments in co-infected cells can lead to the emergence of viruses with pandemic potential. Replication of influenza vRNA occurs in the nucleus of infected cells, while progeny virions bud from the plasma ...

Herein, an RBC membrane‐derived nanoparticle (CMN‐ICG) is engineered to efficiently deliver a sonosensitizing agent, indocyanine green (ICG), for sonotherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). CMN‐ICG exhibits excellent cytocompatibility, significantly enhances hepatocyte uptake, and produces excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon ultrasound ...

The Effects of Viral Structural Proteins on Acidic Phospholipids in Host Membranes
Enveloped viruses rely on host membranes for trafficking and assembly. A substantial body of literature published over the years supports the involvement of cellular membrane lipids in the enveloped virus assembly processes.
