Super-critical withdrawal from a two-layer fluid through a line sink if the lower layer is of finite depth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The steady response of a fluid consisting of two regions of different density, the lower of which is of finite depth, is considered during withdrawal. Super-critical flows are considered in which water from both layers is being withdrawn, meaning that ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Structural and content reform of distance selling rules [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik Radova: Pravni Fakultet u Novom Sadu
The subject of the article are the rules on distance selling contained in the newly adopted Directive 2023/2673. Until the adoption of Directive 2023/2673, distance selling was regulated by the Directive 2011/83 on consumer rights and Directive 2002/65 ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

A numerical model for withdrawal from a two-layer fluid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper reports the results of several direct numerical simulations of the withdrawal of a two-layer fluid with a finite-thickness interface through a slot in the base of a finite rectangular cavity.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Colorectal polypectomy during insertion and withdrawal or only during withdrawal? A randomized controlled trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Removal of colorectal polyps is routinely performed during withdrawal of the endoscope. However, polyps detected during insertion of the colonoscope may be missed at withdrawal.

Ibogaine Detoxification Transitions Opioid and Cocaine Abusers Between Dependence and Abstinence: Clinical Observations and Treatment Outcomes

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2018
Ibogaine may be effective for transitioning opioid and cocaine dependent individuals to sobriety. American and European self-help groups provided public testimonials that ibogaine alleviated drug craving and opioid withdrawal symptoms after only a single

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.
