Realizzazione di firewall in Linux tramite Express Data Path (XDP) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In questo elaborato è stato presentato un esempio di programma XDP per eBPF con lo scopo di andare a verificare l’elaborazione veloce di pacchetti programmabili nel kernel.

Improving AI Weather Prediction Models Using Global Mass and Energy Conservation Schemes

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 17, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) weather prediction (AIWP) models are powerful tools for medium‐range forecasts but often lack physical consistency, leading to outputs that violate conservation laws. This study introduces a set of novel physics‐based schemes designed to enforce the conservation of global dry air mass, moisture budget, and total ...

Polyembryonic or Apomictic Seeds Enable Fig Trees to Establish New Populations Without Their Pollinating Wasps, a Case Observation in Ficus gasparriniana

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
Development of apomictic adventitious embry o in Ficus gasparriniana. Apomixis is a key reproductive strategy for F. gasparriniana, especially when pollination by fig wasps is limited. In the absence of pollination, F. gasparriniana produces seeds through adventitious embryos formed within the nucellar tissue, which is accompanied by polyploidization ...

XPD codon 312 and 751 polymorphisms, and AFB1 exposure, and hepatocellular carcinoma risk

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2009
Background Genetic polymorphisms in DNA repair genes may influence individual variation in DNA repair capacity, which may be associated with risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) related to the exposure of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1).

Cadherin‐6 controls neuronal migration during mouse neocortical development via an integrin‐mediated pathway

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 20, Page 5382-5397, October 2025.
Neuronal migration plays essential roles in the establishment of mammalian brains, and its impairment causes severe developmental abnormalities and behavioral and cognitive deficits. Here, we report that cadherin‐6 (CDH6), an unusual cadherin molecule containing an RGD integrin‐binding motif in the first extracellular domain, controls the motility of ...

Motor assessment of X-linked dystonia parkinsonism via machine-learning-based analysis of wearable sensor data

open access: yesScientific Reports
X-linked dystonia parkinsonism (XDP) is a neurogenetic combined movement disorder involving both parkinsonism and dystonia. Complex, overlapping phenotypes result in difficulties in clinical rating scale assessment.

Reversed Future Drying‐Wetting Precipitation Patterns Over the Northwestern and Southeastern East Asia Driven by Reduced Aerosol Emissions

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 17, 16 September 2025.
Abstract To investigate drying‐wetting patterns of precipitation trends in East Asia, we examine the past and future precipitation changes and their underlying control factors using observations and CMIP6 simulations. Over the past seven decades, greenhouse gases enhanced evaporation through enhanced net longwave radiation, raising dryland ...

New insights into the genetics of X-linked dystonia-parkinsonism (XDP, DYT3) [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Human Genetics, 2015
X-linked recessive dystonia-parkinsonism is a rare movement disorder that is highly prevalent in Panay Island in the Philippines. Earlier studies identified seven different genetic alterations within a 427-kb disease locus on the X chromosome; however, the exact disease-causing variant among these is still not unequivocally determined.

Genome‐wide association study uncovers a novel gene responsible for rice seedling submergence tolerance

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 9, Page 4092-4108, September 2025.
Summary Submergence tolerance is crucial for the direct seeding of rice, yet long‐term domestication and breeding have inadvertently reduced the adaptability of cultivated rice to submergence stress. Here, we identify a nucleic acid excision repair protein‐encoding gene qSHS5 as an essential regulator of seedling height under submergence through a ...

EGR1 Promotes Craniofacial Bone Regeneration via Activation of ALPL⁺PDGFD⁺ Periosteal Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 30, August 14, 2025.
ALPL+PDGFD+ (AP+) cells are distinct calvarial periosteal stem cells (PeSCs) with diminished postnatal activity. EGR1 drives PeSCs development via BMP signaling through its Znf2 domain and activates them via CTNNB1/WNT10B signaling through its Znf2/3 domains.
