Piroxicam Loading onto Mesoporous Silicas by Supercritical CO2 Impregnation

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Piroxicam (PRX) is a commonly prescribed nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Its efficacy, however, is partially limited by its low water solubility. In recent years, different studies have tackled this problem and have suggested delivering PRX through ...

Establishment of Human Formative Pluripotent Stem Cell‐Like Cells Exhibiting Amniotic Differentiation Potentials

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
The hfPSC‐LCs could be established from naïve hESCs, conventional hESCs, hiPSCs, and human blastocysts. The hfPSC‐LCs hold robust capacity for three germ layers, hPGCLCs, and hALPCs. ABSTRACT Human embryos undergo pivotal morphogenetic remodelling shortly after implantation. The understanding of this crucial stage is severely impeded by the scarcity of

Comparative Study of Powder Carriers Physical and Structural Properties

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2022
High specific surface area (SSA), porous structure, and suitable technological characteristics (flow, compressibility) predetermine powder carriers to be used in pharmaceutical technology, especially in the formulation of liquisolid systems (LSS) and ...

Substrate Specificity of B12‐Depedent Ribonucleotide Reductases: Biotechnology and Metabolic Implications

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Ribonucleotide reductases (RNRs) are valuable biocatalysts for the biosynthesis of non‐natural deoxyribonucleotide, relevant in fields like medical science and synthetic biology. In this study, we explore the substrate spectrum of two thermostable RNRs and discuss their implications for nucleotide metabolism and biocatalytical applications ...

Development of 3D Printed Multi-Layered Orodispersible Films with Porous Structure Applicable as a Substrate for Inkjet Printing

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2023
The direct tailoring of the size, composition, or number of layers belongs to the advantages of 3D printing employment in producing orodispersible films (ODFs) compared to the frequently utilized solvent casting method. This study aimed to produce porous

Macrophage Phenotype–Dependent Protein Corona Formation Governs Ligand Accessibility and Immune Clearance of Biomimetic Nanoparticles

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 22, 17 April 2026.
Macrophage phenotype dictates protein corona composition and immune clearance of biomimetic nanoparticles. M0‐derived membranes minimize opsonin adsorption and complement activation, enabling superior immune evasion and prolonged circulation, thereby providing mechanistic insights for designing long‐circulating nanocarriers.

Presence and role of DNA G-quadruplex structures in the pathogenesis of XDP [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
XDP è un malattia genetica che gli uomini possono sviluppare intorno ai 40 anni di età. Alterazioni genetiche localizzate nel cromosoma X sono alla base di questo disturbo e lo stesso aplotipo è condiviso da tutti i probandi.

Signature-Based Traffic Classification and Mitigation for DDoS Attacks Using Programmable Network Data Planes

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks mitigation typically relies on source IP-based filtering rules; these may present scaling issues due to the vast amount of involved sources.

Enhancing Magnetic Hyperthermia at the Cell Membrane by Anchoring 92R‐Functionalized Magnetic Nanoparticles to Low‐Endocytic CCR9 Surface Receptors

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 10, 13 March 2026.
We present a strategy to enhance magnetic hyperthermia therapy by modulating nanoparticle–cell interactions. Antibody‐functionalized magnetic nanoparticles targeting the low‐internalizing CCR9 receptor enable spatially controlled membrane anchoring, reducing aggregation and maximizing heat generation under alternating magnetic fields.

TAF1 as the Most Plausible Disease Gene for XDP/DYT3 [PDF]

open access: yesThe American Journal of Human Genetics, 2007
To the Editor: We address the concerns of Dr. Muller and his colleagues1(in this issue) regarding our recent article in the Journal.2 Previously, Muller et al. reported that five disease-specific single-nucleotide changes (DSCs) in a “multiple transcript system” (MTS) were associated with XDP (MIM #314250).3 Our article was the first to report TAF1 ...
