Bioactive xylo-oligosaccharides from wheat bran soluble polysaccharides
Abstract Soluble polysaccharides (SP, 35 g) isolated from wheat bran (100 g) consisted mainly of arabinose and xylose with minor quantities of rhamnose, mannose, galactose and glucose. Wheat bran SP was subjected to purified endoxylanase (from 96 h ragi malt) treatment to obtain xylo-oligosaccharides (0.3 g/1 g wheat bran).

Xylo-oligosaccharides and virginiamycin differentially modulate gut microbial composition in chickens [PDF]
Background The emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance in pathogens have led to a restriction on the use of antibiotic growth promoters (AGPs) in animal feed in some countries. The potential negative after-effects of a ban on AGPs could be mitigated by improving animal intestinal health with prebiotic dietary fibers such as xylo-oligosaccharides (

In vitro fermentability of xylo-oligosaccharide and xylo-polysaccharide fractions with different molecular weights by human faecal bacteria [PDF]
Xylo-oligosaccharides and xylo-polysaccharides (XOS, XPS) produced by autohydrolysis of the fibre from oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) were purified using gel filtration chromatography to separate the XOS and XPS from the crude autohydrolysis liquor.
