Application Study of Xylo-oligosaccharide in Layer Production
Xylo-oligosaccharide (XO) is a kind of functional oligosaccharide, a kind of safe and health additive. Because of its unique properties, XO has been used in food, medicine and health care widely. As additives for functional foods, XO impels economy to create a great deal of nutrimental substance and presents prebiotic action.

Multi-step approach to add value to corncob: production of biomass-degrading enzymes, lignin and fermentable sugars [PDF]
This work presents an integrated and multi-step approach for the recovery and/or application of the lignocellulosic fractions from corncob in the production of high value added compounds as xylo-oligosaccharides, enzymes, fermentable sugars, and lignin ...

Xylanase and xylo- oligosaccharide prebiotic improve the growth performance and concentration of potentially prebiotic oligosaccharides in the ileum of broiler chickens [PDF]
The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of supplementing broiler diets with xylanase or xylo- oligosaccharide (XOS) on growth performance, the concentration of non-starch polysaccharide (NSP) hydrolysis products in the ileum and ...

Catalytic Properties and Partial Amino Acid Sequence of an Actinomycete Endo-(1→4)-β-D-Xylanase from Chainia Species [PDF]
An endo-(l→4)-β-D-xylanase from a cellulase-free Chainia strain was substantially purified and subjected to amino acid sequencing. The first forty N-terminal amino acid residues show high homology with endo-xylanases from Bacillus pumilus, B. subtilis, B.

Prebiotic Xylo-Oligosaccharides Ameliorate High-Fat-Diet-Induced Hepatic Steatosis in Rats [PDF]
Understanding the importance of the gut microbiota (GM) in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has raised the hope for therapeutic microbes. We have shown that high hepatic fat content associated with low abundance of Faecalibacterium prausnitzii in humans and, further, the administration of F. prausnitzii prevented NAFLD in mice.

Fatty acid composition and phospholipid types used in infant formulas modifies the establishment of human gut bacteria in germ-free mice [PDF]
Human milk fat contains high concentrations of medium-chained fatty acids (MCFA) and triacylglycerols emulsified by a sphingomyelin-rich phospholipid membrane (milk phospholipids, MPL).

Xylo-oligosaccharides production by autohydrolysis of corn fiber separated from DDGS
Xylo-oligosaccharides (XOS) are reported to have beneficial health properties, and they are considered to be functional food ingredients. Corn fiber separated from distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) could be a valuable feedstock for XOS production.
