Yaw moment control for vehicle stability in a crosswind
International Journal of Vehicle Design, 2005Owing to the effect of wind disturbance on its behaviour, a vehicle may not follow the desired trajectory. This paper presents a new yaw moment control based on fuzzy logic to improve vehicle handling and stability in a crosswind. The main advantages of fuzzy methods are their simplicity and their good performance to control non-linear systems.

Design of vehicle yaw stability controller based on model predictive control
2009 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium, 2009Yaw stability of an automotive vehicle in steering maneuver is critical to stability and handling performance of the vehicle. In the paper, a yaw stability controller based on model predictive control is designed in the principle of active differential brake.

Yaw motion stabilization controller for EV based on state observer
2008 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference, 2008A yaw motion stabilization controller in Electric Power Steering (EPS) system is designed in this paper. According to the linearized four-wheel model of vehicle, a state observer of cornering state variables, such as yaw rate angle and slip angle. In order to improve the drive comfort and drive safety for EPS, a Yaw Rate Generator is designed and a yaw

Yaw stability control of commercial vehicle based on variable stability region
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering ScienceYaw stability is a core issue in commercial vehicle(CV) driving safety, especially in the emergencies and extreme conditions. This study aims to address it with the concept of variable stability region (VSR) in dynamic and unpredictable conditions. The critical boundary of yaw stability is analyzed through the Routh-Hurwitz criterion with the impact of

Model Predictive Control for Vehicle Yaw Stability With Practical Concerns
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2014This paper presents a method for electronic stability control (ESC) based on model predictive control (MPC) using the bicycle model with lagged tire force to reflect the lagged characteristics of lateral tire forces on the prediction model of the MPC problem for better description of the vehicle behavior.

Robust yaw moment control for vehicle handling and stability improvement
2012 24th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (CCDC), 2012This paper presents a robust yaw moment controller design approach for improving vehicle handling and stability. With considering the parameter-varying property of tyre cornering stiffness in extreme handling situations, a linear parameter-varying (LPV) model in polytopic form is constructed to represent the nonlinear characteristics of tyres.
