Preclinical models for evaluating psychedelics in the treatment of major depressive disorder

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 14, Page 3970-3991, July 2026.
Psychedelic drugs have seen a resurgence in interest as a next generation of psychiatric medicines with potential as rapid‐acting antidepressants (RAADs). Despite promising early clinical trials, the mechanisms which underlie the effects of psychedelics are poorly understood.

A Comparison of the Anorectic Effect and Safety of the Alpha2-Adrenoceptor Ligands Guanfacine and Yohimbine in Rats with Diet-Induced Obesity. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The search for drugs with anorectic activity, acting within the adrenergic system has attracted the interest of researchers. Partial α2-adrenoceptor agonists might offer the potential for effective and safe treatment of obesity.

β‐Adrenergic Signaling Promotes Anti‐Tumor Immunity in TP53‐mutant Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 35, 24 June 2026.
β‐adrenergic stimulation enhances anti‐tumor immunity in TP53‐deficient oral squamous cell carcinoma by inducing tumor‐derived secretion of CXCL10, which attracts and activates cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. The findings demonstrate that β‐adrenergic signaling alters tumor–immune interactions via CXCL10‐mediated paracrine activation, revealing a neuro‐immune ...

Emerging Treatments for Erectile Dysfunction

open access: yesTrends in Urology &Men's Health, Volume 17, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a prevalent condition that can significantly affect men's sexual health and quality of life, and for which there are many well‐studied effective treatments. In spite of this, many individuals still seek out alternative therapies.

ESTUDO DA REVERSÃO DA INTOXICAÇÃO EXPERIMENTAL POR AMITRAZ POR VIA TÓPICA EM GATOS COM O USO DE IOIMBINA

open access: yesColloquium Agrariae, 2008
The amitraz is an acaricide and tickicide with adrenergic α2 action. The treatment of this intoxication consists on the use of α2 adrenergic antagonists, as yohimbine.

The Pupil‐Brain System at Rest: Spontaneous Pupil Fluctuations as Markers of Neuromodulatory and Network Dynamics

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 63, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Spontaneous pupil fluctuations (SPFs) during rest provide a non‐invasive, low‐cost index of central arousal dynamics, independent of cognitive task demands. These features position SPFs as promising markers for baseline neurophysiological activity in both basic and translational research. This review synthesizes current evidence on the resting‐

Yohimbine bioavailability in humans [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 1990
Pharmacokinetic profiles were determined in seven healthy young male subjects following single oral and intravenous doses of 10 mg of yohimbine hydrochloride. The drug was rapidly eliminated (t1/2 beta 0.58 h orally and t1/2 beta 0.68 h intravenously).
