Targeting the GPX4–FUNDC1 Interaction with Magnesium Lithospermate B Attenuates Sepsis‐Associated Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The diagram depicts the endothelial‐protective mechanism of magnesium lithospermate B (MLB) in sepsis‐associated lung injury. MLB binds GPX4 at Gly79, disrupts its interaction with FUNDC1, prevents mitophagy‐mediated GPX4 degradation, restores mitophagic flux, reduces ROS, and limits ferroptosis.

Maternal Preconception Antibiotic Exposure Disrupts Microbial Succession: A Transgenerational Risk for Offspring Gut Mucosal Immaturity and Colitis Susceptibility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that maternal antibiotic exposure prior to conception disrupts intergenerational gut microbial succession. By enhancing maternal‐offspring microbial transmission, altering microbial developmental trajectories and increasing selective pressures during community assembly, these disturbances lead to persistent gut mucosal immaturity and

Identifikation von Zonula Occludens 2 (ZO-2) als neuen LASP-1 Interaktionspartner und Aufklärung der LASP-1/ZO-2 Kern-Zytosol Translokation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
LASP-1 (LIM and SH3 protein) is ubiquitously expressed at basal levels, but was found to be pathophysiologically overexpressed in several cancer entities. LASP-1 exhibits one LIM domain, two actin binding domains and one SH3 domain. On the one hand, LASP-1 is predominantly localized at focal contacts, lamellopodia and membrane ruffles, on the other ...

Multicohort Validation of Gut Microbiome Signatures for Cholangiocarcinoma Diagnosis and Functional Characterization of Bifidobacterium Pseudocatenulatum

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study analyzes gut bacteria in cholangiocarcinoma patients, revealing distinct microbial signatures that enable accurate disease detection. Species‐based diagnostic models achieved over 98% accuracy in identifying cholangiocarcinoma and distinguished it from other liver diseases. The research demonstrates that specific beneficial bacteria suppress

Deformation of a Trapped Fermi Gas with Unequal Spin Populations

open access: yes, 2006
The real-space densities of a polarized strongly-interacting two-component Fermi gas of $^6$Li atoms reveal two low temperature regimes, both with a fully-paired core. At the lowest temperatures, the unpolarized core deforms with increasing polarization.

Targeted H2S Delivery System Attenuates Blood‐Spinal Cord Barrier Disruption after Spinal Cord Injury by Reshaping the Ferritinophagy Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The αvβ3‐mediated SPRC@MPDA‐RGD targets broken endothelial cells and controllably releases SPRC. CSE is then activated to produce endogenous H2S, which inhibits ferritinophagy. In brief, H2S inhibits autophagy by activating the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway, thereby suppressing the ferroptosis process mediated by NCOA4, and ultimately promoting the ...

Formation of tight junction-like structures of zonula occludens 2 in platelet–platelet interaction

open access: yesResearch and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis
Background: In tissues, cell–cell adhesion, barrier formation, and communication are regulated by gap, adherens, and tight junction (TJ) proteins. Platelets express several of these proteins.

Conduction electrons localized by charged magneto-acceptors A$^{2-}$ in GaAs/GaAlAs quantum wells

open access: yes, 2015
A variational theory is presented of A$^{1-}$ and A$^{2-}$ centers, i.e. of a negative acceptor ion localizing one and two conduction electrons, respectively, in a GaAs/GaAlAs quantum well in the presence of a magnetic field parallel to the growth ...

Proton FLASH Exposure Preserves Gut Commensal Microbiomes and Spares Intestinal Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study highlights the role of Proton FLASH abdominal irradiation in sparing of intestinal stem cells and preservation of key gut microbial population resulting minimization of radiation toxicity in intestinal epithelium in mice. Our findings support the potential of Proton FLASH to improve the therapeutic ratio for abdominal radiation exposure ...
