Study on Salivary Glands α-amylase In Wheat Bug Eurygaster maura (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae) [PDF]
α-amylase activity in the salivary glands of Eurygaster maura was determined by biochemical experiments. Some of adult insect was collected and their salivary glands isolated and characterized. Enzyme samples from salivary glands of adults were prepared by the method of Cohen with slight modifications.

The nucleotide sequence ofSchwanniomyces occidentalisα-amylase gene [PDF]
Abstract The nucleotide sequence of the coding and regulatory regions of the α-amylase-encoding gene (AMY) of Schwanniomyces occidentalis has been determined. This sequence contained an open reading frame of 512 codons, from which a protein with Mr of 53 723 could be predicted.

Cloning of a chromosomal α-amylase gene fromBacillus stearothermophilus [PDF]
Abstract We have cloned and sequenced a gene for a heat-stable α-amylase from a natural isolate of Bacillus stearothermophilus . Previously, it had been shown that B. stearothermophilus amylase genes may be harboured on indigenous plasmids. We have found that our isolate harbours the amylase gene only on the chromosome and not on its indigenous ...

Encouragement of Enzyme Reaction Utilizing Heat Generation from Ferromagnetic Particles Subjected to an AC Magnetic Field. [PDF]
We propose a method of activating an enzyme utilizing heat generation from ferromagnetic particles under an ac magnetic field. We immobilize α-amylase on the surface of ferromagnetic particles and analyze its activity.

Coupling of fermentation and microfiltration for α-amylase production fromBacillus amyloliquefaciens [PDF]
Abstract A strain of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens secreting α-amylase was cultivated continuously in a fermentor coupled to a filtration unit. Under the tested operating conditions, the maximum flux was 91 m -2 h -1 during the first day and 61 m -2 h -1 during the 2nd day. The α-amylase retention was around 30%.
