First Generation Proteolysis Targeting Chimeras (PROTACs) for the Treatment of Progeria

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report the first PROTACs designed to degrade progerin, introducing a novel therapeutic approach for progeria. The best compound, UCM‐18142, significantly reduces progerin levels and improves key disease phenotypes in patient‐derived cells and in the LmnaG609G/G609G mouse model, paving the way for new treatment strategies targeting the root cause of ...

Rapid Immunochromatographic Detection of Serum Anti-α-Galactosidase A Antibodies in Fabry Patients after Enzyme Replacement Therapy. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
We developed an immunochromatography-based assay for detecting antibodies against recombinant α-galactosidase A proteins in serum. The evaluation of 29 serum samples from Fabry patients, who had received enzyme replacement therapy with agalsidase alpha ...

Three novel mutations in α-galactosidase gene involving in galactomannan degradation in endosperm of curd coconut.

open access: yesPhytochemistry, 2018
The deficiency of α-galactosidase activity in coconut endosperm has been reported to cause a disability to hydrolyze oligogalactomannan in endosperm resulting in curd coconut phenotype.

A novel glycoside hydrolase family 97 enzyme: Bifunctional β-l-arabinopyranosidase/α-galactosidase from Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron.

open access: yesBiochimie, 2017
Glycoside hydrolase family 97 (GH97) is one of the most interesting glycosidase families, which contains inverting and retaining glycosidases. Currently, only two enzyme types, α-glucoside hydrolase and α-galactosidase, are registered in the carbohydrate

Senomorphic Small Extracellular Vesicles Delivered by a Tissue‐Adhesive α‐Lipoic‐Acid Hydrogel Enable Immuno‐Rejuvenation for Bone‐Tendon Interface Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work identifies M1 macrophage‐mediated inflammation as a key driver of BMSC senescence and bone microstructural deterioration at the enthesis. A tissue‐adhesive hydrogel delivering senomorphic small extracellular vesicles suppresses this inflammatory‐senescent cascade and enhances BMSC resilience by inhibiting the cGAS‐STING‐NF‐κB pathway.

Acometimento renal na doença de Fabry

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Nephrology, 2016
Resumo Todas as células do corpo humano apresentam acúmulo de globotriaosilceramida (Gb3) na doença de Fabry devido à mutação que ocorre no gene da enzima α-galactosidase A. Trata-se de uma doença ligada ao sexo.
