Pck1 Deficiency Drives Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Cellular Senescence in Adipocytes
Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 1 (Pck1) expression is downregulated in aging white adipose tissue. Adipocyte Pck1 deficiency impairs TCA cycle cataplerosis, causing fumarate accumulation. Excess fumarate disrupts mitochondrial homeostasis, triggers oxidative stress and mtDNA release, activating cGAS–STING signaling and driving inflammaging ...

ABSTRACT Aim Calcineurin inhibitors (CNI) such as tacrolimus (Tac) are the first‐line treatment to prevent transplant rejection. However, CNI have adverse effects on blood vessels and renal function, which may be linked to cellular senescence. Valsartan, a common angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R) blocker, exhibits anti‐senescence properties.

Upon chemotherapy, a subset of cancer cells enters a senescent state, referred to as TIS. When IAP antagonists are administered, TIS cells are selectively eliminated through TNFα‐independent apoptosis. TNFα secreted by TIS cancer cells may also act in a paracrine manner to enhance extrinsic apoptosis in neighboring non‐senescent cancer cells.

ABSTRACT Lactococcus garvieae, Lactococcus petauri and Lactococcus formosensis are etiological agents of piscine lactococcosis, a disease reported in Italy since the early 1990s and linked to significant aquaculture losses. To the best of our knowledge, this study reports the first detection of L. formosensis subsp. formosensis in farmed rainbow trout (

Rhizobial motility preference in root colonization of Medicago truncatula
Summary Tunnel‐like infection thread (IT) structures support root colonization by symbiotic nitrogen‐fixing rhizobia bacteria in most legume species. These tip‐grown structures are key to directing rhizobia from root hairs to developing nodules, where they are hosted to fix nitrogen.
