Chemokine Receptors and Phagocyte Biology in Zebrafish [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Phagocytes are highly motile immune cells that ingest and clear microbial invaders, harmful substances, and dying cells. Their function is critically dependent on the expression of chemokine receptors, a class of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs ...

HPV6‐Induced Gene Expression Signature in Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, Volume 135, Issue 10, Page 3732-3739, October 2025.
Using the conditional reprogramming method, we established a cell culture model of recurrent respiratory papillomatosis and analyzed gene expression. Genes related to human papillomavirus 6 expression were identified, including inflammatory genes (e.g., CTSS, CFB), oncogenic genes (e.g., CEACAM5, CEACAM6), and glycosylation‐associated genes (e.g ...

Built‐In Electric Field Accelerates Nanotopography‐Mediated Enhancement of Vascularized Osseointegration via Cav1.2/Piezo/Ca2+/PI3K Signaling

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 5, Issue 10, October 2025.
Nanotopography improves the piezoelectric properties of BaTiO3 due to decreased Young's modulus. Nanotopography‐mediated mechanical stress dominantly boosts osteogenesis and angiogenesis via Piezo2/Piezo1/Ca2+ signaling. Augmented electric stimulation improves mechanical stress‐mediated osteogenic/angiogenic enhancement via PI3K/AKT/mTOR/GSK3β‐1 ...

The effect of itraconazole, a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor, on the pharmacokinetics of the first‐in‐class ACKR3/CXCR7 antagonist, ACT‐1004‐1239

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science
Cytochrome P450 (CYP) 3A4 is an enzyme involved in the metabolism of many drugs that are currently on the market and is therefore a key player in drug–drug interactions (DDIs).

Structures of atypical chemokine receptor 3 reveal the basis for its promiscuity and signaling bias [PDF]

open access: yes
Both CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) and atypical chemokine receptor 3 (ACKR3) are activated by the chemokine CXCL12 yet evoke distinct cellular responses. CXCR4 is a canonical G protein–coupled receptor (GPCR), whereas ACKR3 is intrinsically biased for

VEGF Signal Complexity Confers Resistance to Atezolizumab, Bevacizumab, Carboplatin, and Paclitaxel in EGFR‐Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor‐Resistant Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
Single‐cell RNA sequencing of EGFR‐TKI‐resistant NSCLC reveals distinct roles of VEGFA and VEGFC in ABCP therapy response. VEGFA drives tumor proliferation in responders, while VEGFC promotes resistance through TME interaction, FGF signaling, and YAP‐TAZ regulation.

In vitro pharmacological characterisation of the role of ACKR3 on CXCR4-dependent and -independent function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
CXC-motif chemokine Receptor 4 (CXCR4) and Atypical ChemoKine Receptor 3 (ACKR3) are two 7-transmembrane domain receptors often studied together due to their common ligand CXC-motif chemokine Ligand 12 (CXCL12) and the implication of said ligand in ...

Enhanced Angiogenic Potential of Electrically Stimulated Human Adipose‐Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) for Ischemic Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
This study explores the use of electrical stimulation (ES) to enhance the proangiogenic properties of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for ischemic disease treatment. Electrically potentiated MSCs exhibited enhanced secretion of angiogenic factors, improved vascularization, and promoted blood flow recovery in a murine hindlimb ischemia model.

ACKR3 in olfactory glia cells shapes the immune defense of the olfactory mucosa

open access: yesGlia
Barrier‐forming olfactory glia cells, termed sustentacular cells, play important roles for immune defense of the olfactory mucosa, for example as entry sites for SARS‐CoV‐2 and subsequent development of inflammation‐induced smell loss.

GPCR‐G protein signalling and its mutational landscape in cancer—Driver or passenger

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 182, Issue 17, Page 3975-3989, September 2025.
G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs) play a crucial role in cellular signalling, regulating various physiological processes. Abnormal expression and mutations of GPCRs have been implicated in several types of cancer, influencing tumour initiation, progression and immune response.
