Demonstrating pharmacological effects in early‐phase oncology clinical trials remains challenging, largely due to the lack of robust pharmacodynamic markers. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is used as an immune challenge agent in healthy participants to study drugs for autoimmune conditions.

Abstract Macrophages are the predominant cell type infected by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) in tuberculosis (TB). Death of Mtb‐infected macrophages promotes tissue pathology and releases Mtb to infect other cells, suggesting that inhibiting the death of Mtb‐infected macrophages could be an adjunctive treatment of TB.

Wild-type and Acod1-/- C57BL/6 mice were intranasally infected with 107 CFU of wild-type B. melitensis 16M or B. abortus 2308, as indicated. At 2-, 5-, 9- and 28-days post-infection, spleen were harvested and weighed individually.

Macrophage markers should be interpreted as context‐dependent biological readouts rather than deterministic cell identifiers. This Review proposes a multidimensional framework integrating lineage, identity, and functional state across complementary experimental modalities to enable a more accurate interpretation of macrophage heterogeneity.

4‐Octyl itaconate (4‐OI) attenuates age‐induced parotid gland dysfunction through the suppression of fibrosis and lipid deposition by AMPKα/PPARα and the inhibition of oxidative stress via the AMPKα/Nrf2 signaling pathway. 4‐OI activates AMPKα, which in turn stimulates both the PPARα and Nrf2 pathways. Activation of PPARα enhances FAO and reduces lipid

Induction of ACOD1 and TNFAIP3 mRNAs during IAV (H3N2) infection of human lung explants.
Reanalysis of a published dataset of gene expression (RNAseq) in IAV A/Panama/2007/1999 (H3N2) infection (dose not specified) of human lung tissue derived from tumor-free margins obtained during lobectomy for lung carcinoma (39).

Posttranslational Modifications of p62/SQSTM1 in Health and Disease
Schematic illustration of p62 as a posttranslational modifications (PTMs)‐programmed integrator in homeostasis, pathogenesis, and therapeutic targeting. (Left) Homeostasis: In physiological states, p62, through various PTMs such as phosphorylation, ubiquitination, and acetylation, coordinates essential cellular functions.

Acod1 deficiency does not affect the growth of ΔaceA B. abortus in vivo.
Wild-type and Acod1-/- C57BL/6 mice were intranasally infected with 107 CFU of wild-type or ΔaceA mCherry expressing B. abortus 2308, as indicated. At 9 days post infection, mice were sacrificed, lungs were harvested and CFU were counted.
