A robust approach to model-based classification based on trimming and constraints

open access: yes, 2019
In a standard classification framework a set of trustworthy learning data are employed to build a decision rule, with the final aim of classifying unlabelled units belonging to the test set.

Application of Electrical Properties to Differentiate Lard From Tallow and Palm Oil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This study aimed to differentiate lard from tallow and palm oil based on its electrical properties, namely conductance, impedance and capacitance. These properties were measured at spectra frequencies of 4.20 to 5.00 MHz in room temperature (26-27 oC ...

Smart Milk Adulteration Detection

open access: yesInternational Journal of Recent Technology and Engineering (IJRTE), 2019
Adulteration is extremely basic today and the most normally adulterated nourishment item is milk. The most widely recognized explanation behind adulteration is the utilization by producers of undeclared materials that are less expensive than the right and pronounced ones.

Neural Network‐Based Detection of Adulterants in Opioid Samples Using IR Absorption Spectroscopy

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
We construct a neural network for the classification of bromazolam and fluorofentanyl in illicit opioid samples. The model outperforms a random forest classifier and shows elevated performance for low concentration samples. ABSTRACT Community‐based drug checking services are challenged in their ability to reliably detect low concentration adulterants ...

Detection of peanut traces in wheat flour through NIR hyperspectral imaging spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
- NIR Hyperspectral images (1000-2200 nm) allowed the detection of peanut traces down to adulteration percentages 0.01 % - Determination coefficient of R2= 0.946 was found for the quantification of peanut adulteration from 10% to 0.1%.

Positive Doping Test Linked to Crumb Rubber From Artificial Football Pitch: Case Report

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
1,3‐DMBA was detected in urine samples of eight athletes following a doping control, resulting in one AAF and levels below WADA's MRL in seven teammates. Investigation revealed contamination from rubber infill used on the indoor artificial turf, with analysis confirming 1,3‐DMBA in the turf's crumb rubber originating from recycled tires.
