State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

A survey of aflatoxin B1 in maize and awareness of aflatoxins in Vietnam [PDF]

open access: yesWorld Mycotoxin Journal, 2017
Vietnam is a tropical country with high temperature and precipitation, which may provide good conditions for fungal growth. A few limited studies have been conducted to evaluate the level of aflatoxin B1 in maize in Vietnam. In addition, no studies have been conducted to evaluate the perception and knowledge of aflatoxins in Vietnam.

A review of aflatoxin: occurrence, prevention, and gaps in both food and feed safety

open access: yes, 2018
Aflatoxins are one of many natural occurring mycotoxins that are found in soils, foods, humans, and animals. Derived from the Aspergillus flavus fungus, the toxigenic strains of aflatoxins are among the most harmful mycotoxins.

Tolerance and Excretion of the Mycotoxins Aflatoxin B1, Zearalenone, Deoxynivalenol, and Ochratoxin A by Alphitobius diaperinus and Hermetia illucens from Contaminated Substrates

open access: yesToxins, 2018
This study aimed to investigate the potential accumulation of mycotoxins in the lesser mealworm (Alphitobius diaperinus, LMW) and black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens, BSF) larvae.

RELA Ablation Contributes to Progression of Hepatocellular Carcinoma with TP53R249S Mutation and is a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Genome‐wide CRISPR/Cas9 based screening identified RELA as a key tumor suppressor in TP53R249S‐mutant HCC. Its loss promotes tumorigenesis and metastasis via DVL1‐mediated Wnt/β‐catenin activation, while its agonist betulinic acid suppresses tumor progression.

Aflatoxins in foods

open access: yesItalian Journal of Public Health, 2007
Aflatoxins are mycotoxins produced by Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus. The aflatoxin group is comprised of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), B2, G1 and G2. In addition, aflatoxin M1 (AFM1), a hydroxylated metabolite of AFB1, is excreted in the milk of dairy cows consuming an AFB1-contaminated ration.

Biological Control Products for Aflatoxin Prevention in Italy: Commercial Field Evaluation of Atoxigenic Aspergillus flavus Active Ingredients

open access: yesToxins, 2018
Since 2003, non-compliant aflatoxin concentrations have been detected in maize produced in Italy. The most successful worldwide experiments in aflatoxin prevention resulted from distribution of atoxigenic strains of Aspergillus flavus to displace ...
