Oiling-out Crystallization of Beta-Alanine onSolid Surfaces Controlled by Solvent Exchange [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Droplet formation in oiling-out crystallization has important implication for separation and purification of pharmaceutical active ingredients by using an antisolvent. In this work, we report the crystallization processes of oiling-out droplets on surfaces during solvent exchange.

Alanine Aminotransferase-Old Biomarker and New Concept: A Review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Medical Sciences, 2014
Measurement of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) is a common, readily available, and inexpensive laboratory assay in clinical practice. ALT activity is not only measured to detect liver disease, but also to monitor overall health.

Analysis of the Longitudinal Behavior of Serum Levels of Soluble Flt1 and Placental Growth Factor in Pregnant Patients With Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study analyzed longitudinal trajectories of soluble Flt1 (sFlt1) levels, placenta growth factor (PlGF) levels, and sFlt1:PlGF ratios in a cohort of pregnant patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods Blood samples were collected (14–18, 24–26, 30–32, 34–36, and 38–40 weeks), stored at −80°C, and evaluated for serum levels ...

High-pressure Raman study of L-alanine crystal

open access: yes, 2000
Pressure-dependent Raman scattering studies in the range 0.0 -- 32 kbar were carried out in L-alanine in order to investigate its external mode phonon spectra in relation to the phase transitions in the crystal.

Risk of Hepatotoxicity in Patients With Gout Treated With Febuxostat or Benzbromarone: A Propensity Score–Matched Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare the risk of hepatotoxicity associated with the use of febuxostat and benzbromarone in patients with gout. Methods New users of febuxostat or benzbromarone with monitoring of liver function at least three times in a year after initiation of the study drugs were identified from an ...

Low Temperature Dependence in 1H CRAMPS & 13C CP/MAS ssNMR Spectra of Alanine Enantiomers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2002
1H RAMPS solid state NMR and 13C CP/MAS spectra of D- and L- alanine crystals were measured at temperature ranging from 220K to 295K. Some major points are as follows: (1)alpha-H and protons in the methyl group showed a spin-spin coupling effect as temperature went down in the 1H- MAS spectra of D-alanine.
