The aminoglycoside 6'-N-acetyltransferase [AAC(6')-I] and AAC(6')-II enzymes represent a class of bacterial proteins capable of acetylating tobramycin, netilmicin, and 2'-N-ethylnetilmicin. However, an important difference exists in their abilities to modify amikacin and gentamicin. The AAC(6')-I enzymes are capable of modifying amikacin.

Protein acetylation in archaea, bacteria, and eukaryotes [PDF]
Proteins can be acetylated at the alpha-amino group of the N-terminal amino acid (methionine or the penultimate amino acid after methionine removal) or at the epsilon-amino group of internal lysines.

Amino acid uptake in Arabidopsis [PDF]
Nitrogen (N) is essential for all living organisms and is considered to be the limiting factor for plant growth in many ecosystems. Although generally believed to rely on mineral N to fulfill their N needs, plants have also been found to access organic N

We cloned and sequenced cDNA encoding p48 subunit of the chicken CAF-1, chCAF-1p48, and histone acetyltransferase-1, chHAT-1 from chicken DT40 cell lines. We showed that the p48 subunit of CAF-1 tightly binds to two regions of chicken histone deacetylase

Diel rhythmicity in amino acid uptake by Prochlorococcus [PDF]
The marine cyanobacterium Prochlorococcus, the most abundant phototrophic organism on Earth, numerically dominates the phytoplankton in nitrogen (N)-depleted oceanic gyres.

Gut microbiota–derived short‐chain fatty acids regulate group 3 innate lymphoid cells in HCC
Abstract Background and Aims Type 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3s) are essential for host defense against infection and tissue homeostasis. However, their role in the development of HCC has not been adequately confirmed. In this study, we investigated the immunomodulatory role of short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs) derived from intestinal microbiota in ILC3

HOMOLOGY MODELING AND STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF AGEING RELATED PROTEINS TERT, HIF1 ALPHA AND AANAT FROM DANIO RERIO, ORYZIAS MELASTIGMA AND ESOX LUCIUS [PDF]
Telomerase reverse transcriptase, Arylalkylamine N-acetyltransferase and hypoxia inducible factor 1 alpha are the aging related proteins which are responsible for ageing of Daniorerio, Esox Lucius and Oryziasmelastigma respectively.
