An anti-ANGPTL3/8 antibody decreases circulating triglycerides by binding to a LPL-inhibitory leucine zipper-like motif

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2022
Triglycerides (TG) are required for fatty acid transport and storage and are essential for human health. Angiopoietin-like-protein 8 (ANGPTL8) has previously been shown to form a complex with ANGPTL3 that increases circulating TG by potently inhibiting ...

Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Promote Tumor Immunosuppression in Hepatocellular Carcinoma via the NNMT‐ANGPTL4 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background & Aims: Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) drive immunosuppression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, their metabolic regulation remains poorly defined. We investigated the role of nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase (NNMT) in CAFs. Approach & Results: High NNMT expression in CAF tissues was confirmed by western blotting and

Role of Angiopoietin like protein-8 as a predictive marker of diabetic nephropathy in type 2 diabetes mellitus [PDF]

open access: yesMinia Journal of Medical Research
Background: Diabetic nephropathy is a critical complication of T2DM. Its prevalence is 30-40% of individuals with long-standing T2DM. DN can cause damage to the small blood vessels of the kidneys impairing their functions in filtering waste and excess ...

Development of a Human 3D Immune‐Competent Neurovascular Model Enabling Time‐Resolved Monitoring of Neuroinflammatory Dynamics and Neuroimmune Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neuroinflammation alters blood–brain barrier integrity and contributes to neurological disorders, yet existing models lack human immune complexity. This study presents a 3D, immune‐responsive platform that reconstructs key neurovascular components and enables real‐time monitoring.

High‐Performance Prevascularized SHED‐Laden rGO@Hydrogel Achieves Optimized Diabetic Bone Defect Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐performance 3D scaffold integrating rGO and SHEDs is developed to overcome impaired healing in diabetic bone defects. By driving extracellular matrix remodeling, rGO creates a pro‐angiogenic niche that significantly accelerates in vitro vascular network formation.

A Bone Marrow–Mimetic Hydrogel Enables Dual‐Phase Hemostasis and Vascularized Osteogenesis for Cranial Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic, fiber‐reinforced hydrogel (FE‐PDA@Fib/Gel‐TG) that enables dual‐phase cranial defect repair. The system provides: instant hemostasis in the early stage, and sustained co‐delivery of pro‐angiogenic and osteogenic signals for synergistic vascularized bone regeneration.

Visualizing the regulatory role of Angiopoietin-like protein 8 (ANGPTL8) in glucose and lipid metabolic pathways

open access: yesGenomics, 2017
ANGPTL8 (Angiopoietin-like protein 8) is a newly identified hormone emerging as a novel drug target for treatment of diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia due to its unique metabolic nature. With increasing number of studies targeting the regulation of ANGPTL8, integration of their findings becomes indispensable. This study has been conducted with the aim

Targeting ANGPTL3 and IL‐33/ST2 Ameliorates Diabetic Kidney Disease by Reducing Lipotoxicity, Alleviating Inflammation and Inhibiting Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of ANGPTL3 and IL‐33/ST2 attenuates diabetic kidney disease by reprogramming lipid–inflammatory crosstalk. This strategy reduces renal lipotoxicity, suppresses inflammatory activation, and limits fibrotic remodeling, thereby preserving kidney structure and function and highlighting a mechanism‐guided therapeutic approach for metabolic ...

MON-097 Angiopoietin-Like Protein 8 (ANGPTL8) Levels in Thai Subjects with Hyperalphalipoproteinemia

open access: yesJ Endocr Soc, 2019
Background Hyperalphalipoprtoteinemia (HALP) is primarily caused by loss-of-function mutations in key genes in the reverse cholesterol transport pathway (RCT) such as cholesteryl ester transfer protein, hepatic lipase, and endothelial lipase. Angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) is a natural inhibitor of hepatic lipase and endothelial lipase.
