Transcriptome analyses reveal anthocyanin biosynthesis in eggplants

open access: gold, 2018
We obtained a white-peel eggplant (L6-5) by EMS mutation in our previous study, whose total anthocyanin content was significantly decreased as compared with that of wild-type (WT). To analyse the anthocyanin biosynthesis mechanism in eggplants, we analysed the eggplant peel by RNA-seq in this study.

R2R3-MYB Transcription Factors Regulate Anthocyanin Biosynthesis in Grapevine Vegetative Tissues

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Anthocyanins with important physiological functions mainly accumulate in grape berry, but teinturier grape cultivars can accumulate anthocyanins in both reproductive and vegetative tissues.

ETHYLENE RESPONSE FACTORS 4.1/4.2 with an EAR motif repress anthocyanin biosynthesis in red-skinned pears

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 2023
Red-skinned pears (Pyrus L.) are preferred to consumers for their attractive color and abundant anthocyanins. Pyrus ETHYLENE RESPONSE FACTOR 3 (PyERF3) positively regulates anthocyanin biosynthesis through interacting with Pyrus myeloblastosis family 114

The catalytic role of glutathione transferases in heterologous anthocyanin biosynthesis

open access: yesNature Catalysis, 2023
Anthocyanins are used in the food and cosmetic industries. Due to the insufficient production in alternative hosts, they are still isolated from plants.

The Arabidopsis transcription factor ANAC032 represses anthocyanin biosynthesis in response to high sucrose and oxidative and abiotic stresses

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
Production of anthocyanins is one of the adaptive responses employed by plants during stress conditions. During stress, anthocyanin biosynthesis is mainly regulated at the transcriptional level via a complex interplay between activators and repressors of

Comparative analysis of full-length transcriptomes based on hybrid population reveals regulatory mechanisms of anthocyanin biosynthesis in sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam)

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2020
Background Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.) is a highly heterozygous autohexaploid crop with high yield and high anthocyanin content. Purple sweet potato is the main source of anthocyanins, and the mechanism of anthocyanin biosynthesis in storage
