Seasonal variations in antibiotic resistance gene transport in the Almendares River, Havana, Cuba
Numerous studies have quantified antibiotic resistance genes (ARG) in rivers and streams around the world, and significant relationships have been shown that relate different pollutant outputs and increased local ARG levels.

Loss of AMBRA1 activates MAPK and angiogenesis signaling pathways in melanoma cells
Loss of AMBRA1 in melanoma cells activates multiple oncogenic pathways associated with tumor progression. Transcriptomic and protein network analyses revealed that AMBRA1 depletion enhances MAPK/ERK signaling, angiogenesis, TGF‐β/EMT signaling, and Wnt/axon guidance pathways.

Antibiotic residues and R-plasmid selection: are in vitro methods good models? [PDF]
Three clones of E. coli, one of which was harbouring a tetracycline resistance plasmid were inoculated together into the stomach of axenic mice. Without antibiotic selective pressure, the R-Plasmid bearing strain became dominant in the faeces of mice ...

Low Incidence of Relapses After Vaccination in Anti‐Aquaporin‐4 Antibody‐Positive NMOSD
ABSTRACT Patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) may experience increased signs and symptoms of their underlying disease when vaccinated against meningococcal disease before receiving complement component 5 inhibitor therapies. This retrospective analysis indicated an overall low relapse incidence (mean [range], 3.3% [0.7%–10.6 ...

ABSTRACT Objective To characterize the demographic, clinical, and laboratory features of the Chinese patients of genetic Creutzfeldt‐Jakob disease with T188K variant (T188K‐gCJD), the most common subtype of genetic prion diseases (gPrDs) in China. Methods In this nationwide retrospective study, data from 98 genetically confirmed T188K‐gCJD patients ...

Antibiotics and Antibiotic Resistance
According to the World Health Organization (WHO)’s "First Global Report on Antibiotic Resistance“, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC&P), the spread of "superbugs“ - bacteria that have changed in ways that render antibiotics ineffective against them - is a serious and growing threat around the world...
