Biochemical Analysis of Human T Lymphocyte Differentiation Antigens T4 and T5
Science, 1980Two major functionally distinct T cell subsets in man have been defined with heteroantiserums and monoclonal antibodies directed against stable cell surface antigens that appear during thymic ontogeny. A monoclonal antibody to T4 antigen (anti-T4) is reactive with the peripheral inducer T cell population while a monoclonal antibody to T5 antigen (anti ...

Ultrastructure and differential antigens of human T-lymphocytes during embryogenesis
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1979Thymocytes of human embryos at the 7–8-week stage have irregularly shaped nuclei with one to three distinct nucleoli, characterized by absence of compact chromatin or heterochromatin. The electron-dense cytoplasm of these cells contains polysomes and a few mitochondria.

Modulation of Cell Membrane Antigens during Differentiation of Rat T-Lymphocytes
1979The aim of the experiments presented here was to trace the differentiation pathway of thymic lymphocytes to peripheral T-lymphocytes in serological and molecular terms. For this purpose the rat has the advantage over the mouse that in this species that antigenic structure being the predominating one on the surface membrane of thymus lymphocytes i.e ...

Abstract The role and induction requirements of helper T lymphocyte responses to herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) was examined. Splenocytes from mice that had been primed in vivo with infectious HSV-1 can be restimulated in vitro with live or partially UV-inactivated HSV-1 to generate high levels of herpes virus-specific cytotoxic T ...

Differentiation antigens expressed predominantly on CD4− CD8− T lymphocytes (WC1, WC2)
Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 1991Abstract The 14 mAbs representing workshop cluster 1 recognise a 215 300 kDa antigen expressed on a subpopulation of lymphocytes which express low levels of CD5 but are negative for other B and T cell markers defined by workshop antibodies. Separate studies with cDNA probes for bovine CD3 and T cell receptor indicate that these lymphocytes ...

Graft‐versus‐host disease (GVHD) after allogeneic hone marrow transplantation (BMT) is initiated by immunocompetent T fells present in the graft. Selective elimination of distinct T‐cell subsets or a sufficient, but not complete T‐cell depletion, might abolish severe GVHD without graft rejection and loss of the anti‐tumour potential.

Clonal expression of differentiation and Ia‐like antigens on alloreactive human T lymphocytes
European Journal of Immunology, 1984AbstractA series of human T lymphocyte clones showing specific responses for major histocompatibility complex‐encoded alloantigens were isolated from a single culture. They were classified into distinct functional groups based on measurement of alloantigen‐specific proliferation and cytotoxicity.

INDUCTION OF HUMAN T-LYMPHOCYTE DIFFERENTIATION ANTIGENS
1976Publisher Summary This chapter presents a summarization of the results of an analysis of human T-lymphocyte differentiation antigens (HTLAs) demonstrating the existence of human T-lymphocyte differentiation antigens, their induction on precursor cells by thymic factors, and the application of this methodology to the investigation of immunodeficiency ...

Macrophage-T-lymphocyte cultures from patients with recent recurrent herpes labialis were stimulated to produce gamma interferon by either herpes simplex antigen or mitogens (PHA and Con A). The ability of monoclonal antibodies to HLA-DR and DC/DS, HSV glycoprotein antigens and T-lymphocyte surface antigens to inhibit interferon production and ...

Monoclonal antibodies to human T-cell membrane antigens were used to evaluate the immunological phenotype of the tumour cells in two cases of a recently described cutaneous T-cell lymphoma of 'multilobated' type. In one case the distinctive abnormal blast cells expressed positivity for OKT6, anti-HTAI, OKT4 and Leu-3a, and showed binding capacity for ...
